How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI think it’s the only hostel in the city where it’s located in center of Dushanbe. It’s very convenient reach to tourist attractions, public parks, supermarket, and a shopping mall. The hostel is on the 17th floor of an apartment building so the view from there is quite good. The hostel is quite spacious with many seating areas both indoor and outdoor. The lady who clean the room is very lovely so does another lady staff (I believe it’s the owner’s daughter but I’m not sure). It’s the best place to be in the city if you are looking for affordable option.
The AC inside my room is too small for the room size which cannot cool down the room to its intended temperature. Now one disappointed thing I need to address here. When I first arrived around 10 am, I was allowed for early check in and was assigned a top bunk, which was completely fine though I sent a message on booking.com informing hostel in advance if I can request for lower bunk and the hostel responded that it cannot be guaranteed as it’s subjected to availability. As I was unpacking my bags and putting valuable stuffs to the locker, one guy who stay in lower bunk checked out. So, I went back to the reception to ask if I can be moved to the lower bunk and I don’t mind setting up the bed my own. However, the staff told me ‘no’ as that bed was already reserved for other guest. So I told the staff that I also put the same request in advance but I was informed it would be subjected to availability so how come that bed was reserved for someone?! I mean if it’s really subjected to availability, it should be fair to all guests… first come first serve, not telling me ‘no’ but ended up reserving for someone else.

Verified reviewHostel was new and location was at top of building with views of city. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Not a traveller's hostel. The hostel is full of russian speakers living in the hostel with belongings spread everywhere. The bathroom was always dirty and only 2 showers for the whole place. There are other bathrooms but they are kept for people renting and living there full-time. The kitchen was never cleaned, and there was a pot of rotting chicken dish left on the sink for the entire stay. People didn't clean up after themselves.. No plug for each hostel bed. Drinking water for purchase only.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the location, views, and our friendly staff. We’re sorry to hear some aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. We will review cleanliness procedures, bathroom and kitchen access, and consider improvements to facilities for all guests.

Verified reviewSolid spot for budget travelers. The rooms are tidy and comfortable and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Closed to ATMs, convenience stores, mall, and restaurants. Located conveniently near the city center, it’s easy to explore Dushanbe’s main attractions from here.
Wi Fi can be challenging at times, and the washrooms are somewhat limited

Verified reviewThe location is great, easy to get from the airport, near most of the touristic attractions in the city, near supermarket, restaurants, cafes and stores. The room was very comfortable and clean, as well as the toilet and shower.
The hostel doesn´t offer breakfast but there´s a kitchen where you can prepare food. They don´t accept payment by card

Verified reviewThis place is ace for its location across the street from the OVIR office to get your permit and registration. Also much of the attractions like the museums are within walking distance - a mile or so. Plenty of restaurants around. Shared bathroom is ok- I’ve had cleaner and also have had worse. But the water pressure is fabulous. Quiet place as well, and decent AC in the bedroom. WiFi is OK: good for photo uploads but it does drop and video calls are shaky and freeze.
I’m giving this place one star bc of the awful customer service at checkout and the hustle going on where someone affiliated with the hostel apparently is very reluctant to give you a letter to get the registration done and pretty much insists you go through her, adding an extra 50 somoni for her “services.” Thankfully I had the GBAO done on my own: costs 100 somoni and 15-20 minute wait. Super easy and you DON’T need her. We had some WhatsApp back and forth yesterday on the registration as I wanted to do it on my own as well: she just needs to provide a letter!! Finally this AM I relented and left her passport and money (270 somoni) for her to take care of it. Said it would be back by noon. She arrived at 12:18 but in the meantime, I was kicked out of my ACed room to sit in the hot, hot airless lobby with no fan. I protested to a woman sitting behind the desk and said it’s not her problem and shrugged, said the room needs to be cleaned. I was told I can go to the EVEN HOTTER kitchen (with no fan). No thanks! Avoid this place. I have to return to Dushanbe after the 7 Lakes and Fann Mountains and will choose elsewhere. I’ve had recs from other travelers.

Verified reviewVery clean (room and common bathroom) Staff helpful, you can copy your passports for 1 som each page They can arrange GBAO permit and registration at OVIR (the desk is at 50m of the hostel) You can do your laundry there for 30 som
Hard to find the entrance, we didn't see a sign, you need to enter a building by talking to a guard or use interfon (I don't know which one), go up to the 17th and there it is. Air cooling was too hot

Verified reviewLocations is pretty decent, a lot of ATM’s around. There’s also laundry service, which is useful. The beds are comfortable.
The ventilation on the shared WC’s is scarce, which accumulates a terrible smell. The energy misses sometimes, which doesn’t let the AC work (just imagine being with 7 more people in the room. The rooftop should be definitely upgraded (is an opportunity that is being missed).
