No wifi. Some beds extremely hard with old worn out mattresses- back sore after a night there. Some areas were unpaved so one had to walk through a muddy dirt area to get get to a dorm. Not near any major amenities- have to walk 15-20 minutes to reach the shopping mall (or take the local share taxis if there is room in them, often there is not)

Wanted to try something different and this place attracts a fascinating mix of people from around the world. Real old school sharehouse feel. Incredibly cheap. Bathroom looks old but actually shower pressure is fantastic. Air conditioning in my room.

The place need a some deepncleaning and renovation. The bed is hard. The guys does everything to be nice and kind but it really should improve a bit. The bed is rock hard, the mattress is 2 inches thin and the AC insufficient. It’s a bargain per se, close to the airport and easily accessibile with number 9 Mikrolet… but that’s all.

It needs renovation, the lock in both the toilets and shower don't work. I stayed in DaTerra hostel that I found on hostel world was better functional and clean. The breakfast was also not good.

The staffs were friendly. The location is near to Timor Plaza, about 900 mtrs. Usually the hostels are not cheap in Dili or Timor Leste. No wifi.

The matress are a bit thin, making the bed hard to sleep in, at least for me. It could have been a soap at the common restroom

Its Dili’s only hostel and a nice place to stay. Its fairly basic but also cheap. The rooms had a bed and a shelf, and a fan in the roof. Breakfast is toast with fried egg. Free tea, water and coffee available. Walking distance to Timor Plaza and the buses to Kupang, which is convenient. I liked the two cats, very cute. Its shared bathroom. Great hospitality from owner and workers

The place had no WiFi - but its written here in Booking.com that they provide internet facilities. The common shower is very dirty and needs some scrubbing or deep cleaning. Also, I requested for a lower bunk bed but the owner didn't accommodate my request despite reserving a month in advance.

The staff were friendly and approachable and serve breakfast upon request. There's no other budget hostel in Dili so if you plan to visit Dili on a budget, you may have to settle here. They have adorable kittens if you are a cat lover. The location is accessible to both Timor Plaza and beach area via Microlet 9.

Bathroom needs a good clean, shower missing the head just the hose, cold water. Mattress on a wood base but comfortable, walls made of plywood so can hear outside noise, but quiet at night

It’s 10 mins walk to Timor plaza, nice family running the place, helpful man.

It's fine overall, but could be even nicer with just a bit of sprucing up and cleaning -- nothing major needed, just a bit of love and care: fixing the squeaky entrance gate, for example, to make visitors feel even more welcome.

One of the few budget options in Dili, this has a nice vibe and a chance to meet other backpackers. It's pretty basic and could do with some TLC, but the owner is friendly and helpful. Location near Timor Plaza and the number 9 microlet route is also pretty good.

My god, the beds were not comfortable at all! Mattresses about 2-3 inches thick on metal frames so really just feels as thought you’re sleeping on metal. No food available when I arrived but you can cook yourself if you go to a shop down the road. Also, only one shower in the place and there was only toilet paper in one bathroom my whole stay. Definitely need a Reno in the Garden and some nice hangout areas. Little fixes would make this place so great!

Hot shower! Breakfast was free (bit small tho). Staff super lovely and there were a bunch of cute kittens! Free coffee and tea all of the time was great, met some lovely people staying as everyone kind of ends up hanging out. Only room with AC I had in East Timor!

The animals are a bit loud, and the place is a bit run down, but everything was functional.

I liked the backpacker vibe. It's a certain type of person that travels to Timor Leste, and almost everyone I met was ticking the country off their country count but were still interested in the culture and activities. Nice vibe! The private room was a nice size and had nice air conditioning! They also helped set up my SIM card which was really nice.

I had very little problem staying here but I’ll write some tips for other travellers in Timor Leste and in some cases Mokul: The experience at casa minha is to live modestly. Mokul does everything for his guests with Elisa’s help. The beds are basic Timor style with mattress on boards in bed frame. I was however still comfortable. The shower again is just the basic but works very well, even after a different guest broke the tap and Mokul fixed it :) Remember dengue fever is common in Timor leste and the mosquitos are everywhere including in the hotels, bars and casa minha. Be vigilant with bug spray and use strong smells like lavender / citrus in room and shower. Wifi is uncommon in Timor leste, it is still a developing country with only recent independence following tragic genocide. Mokul will however help you sharing hotspot for organising things, just don’t expect wifi all the time.

If you want a true experience living like a local from Timor-Leste within the suburbs of Dili then look no further. Mokul the host is a truly wonderful man. Infamous in Dili for setting up the backpackers house, you live with him and other guests in the accommodation. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you can share meals together and chat away. Having worked previously in Kolkata in 2012, it was lovely to share stories with him (as he is from Bangladesh). He was very helpful with airport transfers, microlit information, maps and general advice. His helper Elisa was also lovely and made me breakfast and coffee each morning. And his little 8 week old kitten is adorable and always wanting cuddles and play time. You can catch the number 9 Microlit directly outside from the property which takes you to most tourist attractions in about 20 minutes. It is only 0.25$ per ride. The number 12 connection takes you to Cristo Rei. A small store is 10 minutes away. Timor plaza and a supermarket is about 25 minutes.

First of all this info shall be taken into consideration before traveling: 1- if you will travel to Timor East pls don’t bring banknote less than 5 USD as they don’t accept 1 or 2 USD as a banknote and should be coins only. 2- they don’t accept Mastercard and they accept Visa card only I mean the country but the hostel they accept cash only. 3- i had so many banknotes but 1 usd and they didn’t accept it and I suffered a lot but finally they owner accepted to take it after long negotiations to find away as it’s money but as mentioned above they don’t accept less than 5 USD 4- the bed was not comfortable as the mattress wasn’t comfy I woke up all my body hurts 5- if you will take taxi please don’t forget they accept from 5USD or above if less shall be coins Had bad experience but I survived.

There is a lady she is so kind and helpful and she tried to help me all the time.
