The owner and her eldest daughter are very nice. They have a dog and a cat that is so much fun to play with. The elder daughter made an extremely helpful guide that we really appreciate. The bed is extremely soft, and the hotel itself is very beautiful. It’s remotely 20 mins walk for a lot of amazing things like beach and nice restaurants. The lady who makes the breakfast, and the women who serves the breakfast is really nice as well! I’m allergic to nuts and the lady who makes the breakfast accommodated that and made me a separate breakfast.

The room is advertised as much larger than it actually is. The rooms are extremely tiny and not worth the price point in USD. They include breakfast, but there is very rarely any protein in the breakfast so you’re left hungry. Although the pool was gorgeous, the pool was not clean. We were promised a late check out by the owner yet one of the staff members made us checkout early despite the previous approval by the owner. The younger girl who works the night shift is slighty hostile, but it could just be an off set. Only the owner and her daughter speak English, so it was really hard to communicate with staff.

The hotel is wonderful and very chic. Very comfortable clean rooms and facilities. The staff are quite lovely and helpful, but since no one spoke English, it was quite hard to communicate given that my French is limited to nonexistent.

Although the breakfast includes typical Tunisian food, a wider selection would be most welcomed.

    The breakfast was lovely

The rooms were small not much room given the price. Also, we said we were coming late and then attempted to call many times from the cab to get clearer directions and now one answered. Then was asked to pay the staff when I checked in at 2am.

    Property response:

Dear Lorraine We’re glad you liked our breakfast and are sorry you found the room smaller than expected. As of our check in hours policy, a couple of days prior to your arrival we send an automatic message to inform about our late check in applied extra fees. Our last employee leaves at midnight and the late check in fee is destined to pay for her over hours.

This is my second time staying in Dar Souad, and once again, I had a wonderful experience. I came for work, but also to enjoy the beauty and charm of Tunis, and this location truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel feels like an oasis - it's so peaceful and quiet, offering the perfect balance of relaxation and proximity to the city. The atmosphere is incredibly homely, which made me feel comfortable and at ease during my stay. It’s rare to find such a warm, welcoming place that feels like a true retreat, especially when you're traveling alone. One thing I particularly love is supporting a woman-owned business. It’s inspiring to see the dedication and care put into this place, and it adds a special touch to the entire experience. The area also felt very safe, which is so important when you're traveling by yourself. I highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Tunis, whether for work or leisure. It’s an incredible gem in the heart of La Marsa!

    all good

The hotel was described by one visitor "an oasis in the middle of La Marsa", and it held true to it's word. The entire experience at DarSouad was amazing - from the friendly staff to the lovely traditional breakfast every morning, which changed every day depending on the fresh fruit of the time and various kinds of breads. We loved every part of our stay. Special thanks to Nour, who checked us in and who we chatted with every evening upon return to the hotel. She was extremely helpful and even helped me lug my way too heavy suitcase to the second floor. When I return to Tunis (and I will) I will be staying here. Thanks to ALL the amazing staff who made our stay extra special.

Madam Rajaa was amazing and very friendly The staff were very nice as well The design is amazing like an old traditional Tunisian house The breakfast was super and delicious and when i asked for eggs they made them for me The hospitality of the madam Rajaa and the location is near everything

The room was clean when I received it however it was not cleaned after that during my stay just the bed was made and trash removed so it was dirty which made me uncomfortable specially the floors were dusty and full of hair The location is close everything but the street is not nice at all The sound proof is zaro,, u can hear everything all day and night from the garden or the rooms next to you Specially in the very early morning when staff start to clean or move I can hear the people in the next room talking and coughing

In the heart of La Marsa, this hidden gem is gonna be our first choice when visiting Tunisia again. Calm, clean, staff extremely polite, and amazing clean food! We enjoyed the authentic Tunisian style garden or terrace and made friends with the hostel’s doggy mascot Willy - an old gentle soul he is.

There is not lift - but the again it's not a disabled friendly country in general

For many reasons we were very pleased with our four-night stay at Dar Souad. One reason for that is that our accommodation was very comfortable. The rooms were large and bright, attractively furnished and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable, the showers excellent, and one room had a good-sized balcony with two large deck chairs. Another reason is that Dar Souad is filled with furniture and furnishings of great beauty -- tiles, lamps, chests, and much more. The internal courtyard with its pool, plants and art objects is especially attractive. Moreover, there are many very attractive places to sit and to talk or to read or to sip cool drinks. In addition, staff were friendly and helpful. A very special feature of Dar Souad is the quality -- and indeed the diversity -- of the cuisine. Breakfast was an exciting meal with numerous familiar and unfamiliar items -- all fresh, tasty and harmonious. We ordered dinner for three evenings and were delighted with the results. Every dish was flavourful but never heavy or exaggerated. We certainly recommend the tagines and the Ottoman ragout. Seasonal vegetables were featured. It was March, and artichokes, peas, and carrots were abundant. Desserts were always a real treat. In short, we very much appreciated the refined, delicate and tasty meals. The location of Dar Souad suited us well, especially as we had a car. The various Punic and Roman sites in Carthage were easy to reach; driving to the Medina and to the fabulous Bardo Museum took time, but neither trip was problematic and parking was not a problem. Parking near the Dar Souad was also not a problem.

Amazing hosts. In this hotel you feel like you are part of the family while having your own space and privacy. We had a fun cooking class with the owner Raja. They have a lovely cat and dog. The team is super friendly, the breakfast amazing and the property beautiful. Thank you so much!

The pillows could be a bit softer and the shower flooded easily

Feriel and her staff and dog are excellent: warm, relatable, and proficient at their jobs (the dog's job is to chase the cat!). The courtyard of the hotel is beautiful and the little pool would be a treat to dip into in the springtime. The bed chamber is nice, and the bed comfortable. I'm not a big fan of the hotel's style of bathroom -- completely open -- but I suppose some people are.

The item that upset me a bit is that there was no fire alarm in my room, and to be honest, I felt the place was a bit of a fire trap. I was on the third floor, the top floor, and I think there was only one way out... After the recent fire in Turkey, the owner should have a PLAN.
