A great one night stay hotel. It is clean with ok food and free parking. The staff are friendly, special to mention Amal who did good job. Recommended for one night stay.

The indoor pool was unfortunately not functioning. Some maintenance needed around the place, but nothing too dramatically bad.

Beautiful swimming pool, great location. We had a lovely balcony facing the palm forest. The dinner and the breakfast were plentiful and varied.

Dinner and breakfast is so so, simple but anyway more than enough to feed yourself. Room facilities is old and simple and we found others’ garments in the room when we checked in.

The food buffet was a bit of a scrum (it was a busy time of year) and there could be more vegetarian options available.

Superb value (room included breakfast and dinner in the price) and the old school feel was actually adds real charm.

Safe in room not working, couldn’t or didn’t want to fix it. Hotel runs on tours that stop for one brief night coming from Djerba or else. I understand they need this to survive, but I could have done without the rude behaviour and the noise.

Located at edge of Sahara. Huge spaces, great pool, big room with private balcony, comfy bed, silent airco, alright shower. Everything could do with a lock of paint and some renovations here and there. Good coffee at breakfast (best I had on this trip) Good hammam and massage.

Location wasn’t very easy to get to

This hotel was comfortable and clean, exactly what we needed for a quick day trip in the desert. I did read all the reviews and agree that this hotel is slightly outdated, but you need to consider the context here: There are only four hotels in the whole area and this is a very small town in the middle of the Sahara desert. Considering all of these facts, I would say that this hotel serves the purpose for exactly what we needed: a clean, comfortable and safe stay for us to visit the Sahara desert the next day. It is unfair to hold a hotel in this area of Tunisia to the same standard, that you would hold another hotel in a western country. The staff was also very friendly. In addition, please keep in mind the cost of the room also includes breakfast and a 5-course dinner. There was ample parking for our car when we arrived. Pool was beautiful.

The hotel is perfect in case you are going to visit in Sahara. We arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. Got a good dinner served and nice breakfast.Really beautiful area with a lot of palm trees. Hotel itself was better than in pictures.

The hotel is a bit dated and the bathroom had several issues like a sink that leaked and a shower head that was broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom.

Sahara Douz was as expected. There are not many hotel options in the area and none that are luxury for what most would consider luxury, however I would say Sahara Douz did a great job of ensuring we were comfortable. We only stayed one night and the staff is what made the stay great.

Out of our two-week Tunisia trip, this hotel really disappointed us in terms of price-quality range. Having paid almost 90 EUR a night, we would have expected it to be cleaner (sand everywhere), fairer (overpriced tours), of more variety (both in terms of breakfast and dinner) and quieter (hordes of tour buses to be dropped off).

The swimming pool is a huge plus. A variety of (overpriced) activities can be booked at the hotel. The laundry service works great.

Unpleasant argument with reception staff who decided not to honor the cost for the booking by booking.com. It got settled but resulted in an overall negative impression.

This is definitely not a 4-star hotel, at least not any more. The rooms are substandard and things are falling apart (doors on the non-functional fridge, soap holder in the bathroom). We had half -board and both dinner and breakfast were poor. This probably once was a nice hotel in a good location but fell into disrepair.

Food quality was acceptable, nothing special but not bad.

I've been in most of the hotels in Douz, and in my opinion, this is the best one in town. The reception service was nice, the person behind the desk was chatty and funny. The room was neat and comfortable, with a nice pool view. The swimming pool is big enough and looks pretty.
