How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe boss is a very warm and nice person. We arrived relatively late. After arranging the accommodation, he helped us contact the next day's entertainment program and how to get there by bus. He was very considerate. When he came back at night, he also cared about whether we had a good time during the day. He kept asking about my needs by email and helped us make an appointment to get up early. The taxi, in short, treats every guest and friend very considerately and patiently. There are many young people in the homestay, and the atmosphere is also very good. A highly recommended experience.

Verified reviewGood location: very close to the train station and historical Medina of Sousse. A lot of cafe and restaurants around hotel. Great value for money. Spacious room with a balcony. A real bath in the room, not just a shower. Friendly and communicable staff.
It can be noisy from outside on weekend evenings because there are clubs closer to hotel.

Verified reviewThe location of the facility is quite close to Calis Beach, the beds and sheets were very nice and clean. The hostel is run by a family and they are very friendly, loving and warm-hearted, they welcomed me warmly and at the same time Kubilay, the owner of the hostel, gave me brief information about where I should visit, which was very valuable. They also had a place for me to park my motorcycle.

Verified reviewVery good value for the price. Clean, calm, comfortable, good kitchen. Washing machine available. The best value are the hosts and their playful cat. They are very proactive in helping with any issue, suggesting tips for excursions and hidden places. There is a bus stop in 1-2 min to take you straight to te city center, supermarkets also within 5 min walk.

Verified reviewKubilay was absolutely friendly and helpful in getting around the South of Turkey. The hostel is perfect with great AC, beds, toilets and even a shared kitchen.
Location is a little far off from the city center. Have you walk a fair bit to get down.

Verified reviewWe had to book this accommodation as there were limited options remaining. But we were left dissatisfied and eager to leave from the moment we arrived. Upon checking in we were shown the accommodation by the host who was rather friendly. However, there was a deeply rude and unfriendly older Russian man working there acting as his “manager”. He didn’t once introduce himself or acknowledge us and continued to treat us in this way for the duration of our stay. Be warned he uses the dorm room as his personal office, setting up a table, computer and accessories from 10am - 11pm. When it came to taking payment, instead of asking us directly, he asked another female member of staff who was volunteering to ask on his behalf, even though he had seen us numerous times that day. We thought this was an incredibly cowardly and unprofessional way to deal with guests. He created an unpleasant, unfriendly and unwelcoming atmosphere for the entirety of our stay. Also be warned that this property is NOT secure. Both front doors are left wide open throughout the entire night and there are no locks on the dorm room doors. If you are planning on visiting in the hotter months also be aware that only one room has air conditioning and the rest of the property is unbearably hot 24/7. Although this place is advertised as a hostel on all the common booking platforms, it is simply someone’s converted apartment. Bunk beds are crammed into bedrooms and the entire property sleeps approximately 12 people. However, there is only one properly functioning bathroom/shower that is dirty, one small ill equipped kitchen and a dining area that seats no more than 4 people. Even at €15 per night for a 7 bed dorm, this place is overpriced. Don’t waste your money staying here, stay at a real hostel with staff that know how to run one. After posting this review to Google, I have received a series of rude emails from the Russian man mentioned in the above review at 2 am.
this guest have issues in mind even when we treat very well to guide him and host safely with good hospitality and best price in the town,he has exactly provocative and false comments to make down about the hostel.
