Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom1. Just the fact that there is no dedicated reception at night. I think the property management shares receptionist with another hotel. When we checked in, we had to wait for few minutes so that the reception could come to the hotel. We checked in at the middle of the night so it might be the case because during day time, we always saw the receptionist stationed there. They also message us to let them know when we are already few minutes away upon check in. On our part, I think it was just inconvenience because it is already night and we want to check in as soon as possible. But overall, the hotel is very good.
Very good budget hotel. Just to make it clear that there are no flower petals like in the picture. Hahahaha. But for a hotel in the city centre, definitely it was of good space. It has all the basic things you expect from a hotel. The staff were very accomodating. The location is so central. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants that are open at night and to tourist attractions.

United KingdomRegarding the noise, you can hear little noise from outside almost non audible.
The property is very central and has couple tram stops near by. There are a lot of restaurants and shops near by. It is very close to the big main touristic points. The staff were great always made sure we had everything we needed, gave us helpful suggestions and were always polite and kind. There was a little issue with the air con but they sorted it straight away. The place was clean, there is always coffee, tea and water bottles. They kept our bags after check out until we had to leave for the airport. The are is safe, I had no problems walking around even during the night. There is a lift.

FranceHello, We truly enjoyed our stay at Asilzade Hotel. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming, the rooms were spotless, and the hotel’s location was excellent — very close to the Sultanahmet area and conveniently near the tramway.

South AfricaNo complaints about this hotel.
Hotel is at perfect location, with many restaurants minutes from front door; and close to public transport. Room has good quality linen & towels. Our room was not street facing, so was very at night. Front desk was always super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

RussiaWe had a great experience at this hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive. We lived on the third floor, and even though it has been quite noisy it wasn’t a problem for us as the noises of trams passing by outside added to the vibe of the city. If you’re sensitive to loud noises I guess you should take your earplugs with you. I saw comments about the refrigerator (minibar) not generating enough cold but it isn’t true. We put drinks in there in the evening and they were cool in the morning. It’s just that when you touch the mini bar inside it’s not cold at all and it seems like it doesn’t generate any cold. I also stored baklava there.

AustraliaThe room got extremely hot despite turning off the heating.
Great location, nice and clean room, friendly staff. We appreciated the fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and water bottles supplied. The room had a good size and the bed was comfortable. Nice hot shower. Only a short walk from the train station, many shops and restaurants outside the front door. Would definitely stay again.

GermanyWe will definitely book this hotel again on our next visit to Istanbul! The hotel is very centrally located, with the tram station nearby. That was our top priority. Bayezit/Sirkeci/Eminönü/Sultanahmet, where the main attractions are located, are easily accessible by tram. Therefore, 10/10. The hotel was clean. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The man at the reception was very helpful, friendly, and always smiling.

AustraliaOne issue very specific to when we were there. The floor air-conditioning system is all ties together so its either all floor cooling or all floor heating. I like to sleep in a cooler room, but it was cold for many others who wanted heating, so the aircon was only able to heat which turned the room into an oven. This was mainly an issue in the first night when i did not know that and turned on cooling only for it to turn into heating halfway through the night and me waking up in a pool of sweat. However, Ahmet helped us by giving us a very good fan, and we were able to open the window as we were not facing the street (some noise from aircon units behind but easily drowned by the fan), and we slept comfortably after that. Its only an issue if you go in winter and have low heat tolerance, but should not be an issue in hotter months when everyone wants cooling. Without this issue this place is 10/10
The staff were really nice and helpful Ahmet at the reception was always there to help and make life easy for you. The location was close to everything and right next to all the main attractions. The bed was very comfortable and the room spotless all the time. Daily clean and towel change was provided which was great. Small things such as bag scales at the reception were very helpful too. In most things its 10/10. We were also not facing the street so the tram noise few people talked about was not an issue.

United KingdomThe hotel was in a fantastic location and within walking distance of all the main attractions, public transport links and restaurants. The staff were lovely and were always on hand to help with anything we needed. The room was bigger than we anticipated and was clean and comfortable!! We also didn’t hear any noises as mentioned in other reviews but we were in a room at the back of the building. We had a great stay and would 100% stay again if we were back in the area.
