Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Asur hotel is in an ideal location with plenty of restaurants and the Spice market and Grand bazaar walking distance away. The main attractions Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia walking distance in the other direction. The bed was super comfy and the room spacious with a little balcony. The staff were kind and attentive.

United StatesStayed at Asur Hotel in Sultanahmet and was thoroughly impressed! The staff were incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist with anything—truly above and beyond service. The buffet breakfast was a delight, offering a generous selection to start the day. Best of all, the location is unbeatable—just steps away from iconic landmarks like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. A perfect spot for anyone wanting to explore the heart of Istanbul!

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike
We loved everything about this beautiful little hotel. The location was excellent, close to all the tourist attractions in the Old Town. The staff were exceptional, we felt very much at home here. The buffet breakfast was THE BEST we had in three weeks of touring in Turkey. We loved having a beer and a bite to eat in the afternoon/evenings at the front of the hotel in the laneway. I can highly recommend this hotel. It was safe, welcoming and everything we could have hoped for. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Istanbul.

United KingdomMy room. See remarks above.
I realise that this hotel is old and probably has to comply with regulations if alterations are to be made. However, my room was dingy and old-fashioned. The window looked onto a dismal yard. The dressing table had no reasonable light above it and so couldn't be used. The bathroom was good and had a decent walk-in shower. Despite what I have said about the room, I would stay in this hotel again. It's location is ideal, the food was good ( with 20% discount in restaurant) and the staff were all attentive and helpful. The gentleman who manned reception in the late afternoon and evening (whose name I can't recall unfortunately) was over and above helpful. I thank him particularly.

ItalyWe travelled in May and stayed in Junior Suite 7, which was beautiful and had a stunning view of the Blue Mosque. The room was clean, spacious, and well decorated. Breakfast was delicious and very rich, with lots of sweet and savory options. We also enjoyed a discount at the Lotus Restaurant & Café, which was very convenient. The hotel is close to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Basilica Cistern, Topkapı Palace, and Gülhane Park. The tram stop to Galata Tower and the Asian side is just 2 minutes away. The area is full of cafés, restaurants, and shops. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. They were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to give suggestions on what to see or where to eat. Every time we came back to the hotel, they would greet us with a smile and ask about our day, which made us feel really cared for. We also arranged round-trip airport transfers through the hotel, and on the morning of our early departure, they kindly prepared a breakfast for us at 3:30 am — once again, with a smile. Besides the location and great service, what actually convinced us to book this hotel was a review that criticized the staff for being “too friendly.” That review actually convinced us to book the hotel. For us, being “too friendly” was exactly what we were looking for. It’s wonderful to feel at home and to meet new people when you travel. Thank you to all the team at Asur Hotel and Lotus Restaurant — we can’t wait to come back! Iuliana & Anastaiya

IrelandWe stayed in May and it was not too warm yet but we did have the air-con on the last day and it was not very powerful. If you were there in the middle of summer the room might be a bit warm but it could have just been the air-con in our room. If you are staying in winter or when its not too hot then there is no problem.
The location of the hotel was great. Within walking distance to lots of attractions and there are restaurants just one street over that do amazing local food. The staff were extremely helpful.

United StatesIf I absolutely had to pick one thing, the door on the shower stall didn't perfectly seal so some water would get out. But that's hardly a deal breaker.
The Asur is a real gem of a hotel. Perfect location - walkable to the main sights like Topkapi, Haggia Sofya, The Basilica Cistern, super close to beautiful Gulhane Park..and yet the street its on is lovely and quiet. The area around it is great for shops, restaurants, cafes, bakeries. 10 mins walk to the Ferries and tram, metro also very close. From our check in with Ilias (hopefully the right spelling) to the waiters at the restaurant and housekeeping staff, everyone was so nice, genuine and warm. Always professional, courteous and very friendly. The whole hotel was always super clean and well maintained. Rooms were a decent size for 2 and shower was hot and with good pressure after a long day of walking..it was another plus. Breakfast was a lovely Turkish spread with a wide variety that was a welcome start to the day.
