How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpful staff. The room was descent size and very comfortable. The location was excellent and close to the old castle and anatolian museum. As guests of the hotel, we were granted free entrance to another museum next to it. There is free parking.
The only minor "issue" was that the bartender did not work at the night when we stayed in the hotel, and we could not enjoy some good cocktails.

Verified reviewThe hotel is very unusual, being a former caravan stop- it has been beautifully restored and the rooms are large and very comfortable- nice large bathrooms as well! Perfect location across from the castle and within reach of many shops and restaurants, as well as museums! The restaurant had such a lovely view overlooking the city and of the sunset at night- and the food was excellent! Ali and Mehmet at the front desk were both excellent and very helpful. Highly recommend as a perfect place to stay in Ankara!

However, frequent events and weddings in the lobby caused significant noise. We were moved to a better, quieter room, which was appreciated. The location is on a hill in a historical area, with some shops and restaurants nearby.

Verified reviewThis is a 400 year old renovated caravaseri directly across from Ankara Castle. There are only 19 rooms and you feel how special it is to stay here. Everything is well thought and considered - the linens, the bath products, the furniture. Nothing I would change. A bonus is that with your room key you are given free admission to the museum next door.

No fridge n it’s difficult to watch the tv as it is placed towards the door of the room. It’s close to the castle, but no other public transport to other attractions except taxi.

Verified reviewOn our Turkey trip this hotel was the best we stayed in. We stayed in the Indian Room - every room has a theme. It was very tastefully decorated. The staff was very friendly. There was a party in the inner courtyard in the evening and they brought the leftovers to our room. The view from the breakfast salon on Ankara was superb.

Verified reviewOne of the most amazing boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed at. And a truly 5 * one. Superb location, in the heart of Ankara old city. Amazing rehabilitated old building, superb decoration and top comfy, spacious rooms (we had a standard one wich was huge - equivalent of suite elsewhere). Super clean and tranquil. Great service.

It is only 5-10 minutes to walk to the most important museums in Ankara (Anatolian Civilizations Museum, Ankara Castle, Rahmi Koc Museum, First Parliament, Independence War Museum, Erimtan Museum, Is Bankasi Museum, Roman Bath, Etnografya Museum, Chess Museum, Word Museum, etc). The hotel does a very good job in combining the rustic history of the area along with stylish modernness.
