Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe aircon in the dorms was useless. The shower was a bit dingy, sprayed water all over the toilet.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice location with the view, the bar and the hostel areas.

AustraliaA good hostel/pub for a night or two. There wasn’t much of a social atmosphere for solo travellers. There was a (social area) garden and bar downstairs that looked abandoned and unused. The kitchen was also a bit unused. The rooms and pub area were great, a bit of a walk up the hill but not too bad.

United KingdomThe bathroom was terrible. Broken shower holder, no ventilation, floors were wet and dirty 24/7. Had a nasty smell.
Nice hostel on a hill (note the mountain you have to climb to reach this hostel), but a great view. Friendly staff and airconned room which was necessary.

United KingdomOn first impact I wasn't fully happy about the room (the toilet was very dirty due to the guests, not staff, and I was on the upper bed which was quite uncomfortable to reach). The staff were super responsive and the following morning promptly cleaned the room and changed me to a lower bed, while I was out for the day.
As others have said, you can't beat the location and the vibes. I stayed in the hostel for two nights, in the mixed dorm. The pub has a really great atmosphere and it's lovely to have a drink and watch the sunset, and have breakfast in the morning. The location is really perfect, only a ten minute walk to the centre (though beware the steep hill to get to the hostel, but it's short, only a couple of minutes). All in all would recommend and will come again.

United StatesThere wasn’t information readily available about activities in the area, local transport options, etc. The staff was very kind and helpful if you asked them specific questions, for example, they arranged our boat tour. But you need to already know what is available and ask them.
Great location, fantastic view from the bar, and nice staff.

AustraliaBeautiful view of the marina although you have to hike to get it. The walk up from the marina is steep and sweaty when you have bags but fine without them. Very close to the old town and markets as well. Breakfast was substantial with egg, salad, bread and salami. The room was large with a nice balcony. We were surprised by the 3 kittens and mum cat who lived at the hostel. They spent a lot of time playing and sleeping on our balcony which we loved. Also a kitchen with fridge we found handy. The staff were helpful when we needed to get to Oludeniz, they explained how to catch the bus and where to find it.

BelgiumEverything was great! When you want to go for a drink/food to the harbor maybe the location of the hostel being on a steep hill might be reconsidering your choice, but they have a great pub there so lovely anyway.
The view of the room was absolutely stunning! Upon arrival we’ve been greeted very warmly and immediately felt like this was the right choice for our short stay (one night before taking the ferry to Rhodes). The Hostel has a really nice pub with good beers and good food. The room was really nice, quite, clean and again.. the view. Breathtaking and absolutely worth it.

MexicoThe shower curtain did not go all the way to the floor, so if your roommates aren’t careful, everything in the bathroom got soaked, including the toilet lid. And the killer hill coming back at the end of the day!
There is a very popular bar up top, but after you start down the steps to the rooms, you can’t hear a thing. There’s a terrace out back on the hostel side and from there, you can see the bay and all the boats, which is beautiful. The blackout curtains around the bed are amazing! Close them and you can’t even see the light from the room they are so tight, giving great privacy. We had an air conditioner and the control is in our room. The beds and the pillows are really comfortable, they put on the sheets. There’s a huge drawer under the bed where you can put a lot of your things, but you’ll need to bring your own lock I guess. At the foot of the hill, there are a couple of little grocery stores, and a mini bus that passes constantly going up into other parts of the town and to the bus station. The hilltop just above the Hostel is very popular with locals to watch the sunset or just to sit and chat and eat and drink. Don’t miss it.

United StatesIt is pretty uncomfortable because. The top bunks are extremely difficult to get into and out of if you are short and stuff falls behind the bed really easily because of the large gap between the wall.
The staff is so so nice. They made the experience good.

United StatesThe staff were not very helpful (except the cleaning woman, she was lovely). Any time you asked a question it was like they were annoyed with helping you. Also, the wifi is worthless. I work remotely and had to get an extra SIM because I couldn't use the wifi in my room or even in the shared areas. Also, the walls may as well be nonexistent. You can hear every single sound, beginning with furniture moving at 7am. I even heard someone in another room snoring. If you don't need wifi and you have solid earplugs, then this is a decent hostel that has incredible views and will meet your needs.
The views are amazing and make everything else worth it!

UkraineWhen we arrived the shower walls were dirty/ moldy, we asked to clean it and it was done but some mold still stayed somewhat deep between the tiles it would be nice for them to deep clean it, as mold isn’t good for health of the guests
