Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

OmanOne of the heaters in the room was not operational. Though they tried to get it fixed, it could not be sorted during our short stay.
This place is a very cosy place of stay. Mr Haydar was a super host. Very friendly and more than helpful. Would recommend this place very much. Breakfast was very homely. On our last day of stay, we had to travel early before the normal breakfast timing. Mr Haydar made sure we had a packed breakfast that we could take away on our journey.

United StatesAn exceptionally cozy place, not only due to its quite setting, attention to details in the authentic decor, healthy breakfasts that are served from the stove, relaxing beautiful morning and evening views, comfy beds perfect for tired Cappadocia climbers, but also and foremost, due to its wonderful staff! Haydar has a special gift of managing the hotel like a stress-free home. Never a question or issue that isn’t addressed before you even asked, or within seconds. It’s a bit of a walk to town center, which is also reachable by a 3 minute inexpensive cab ride. Yet there is so much to see in Cappadocia and places to dine en-route, that we found it absolutely unnecessary to be bound to a lively location. On the contrary, after a full day of mind boggling sightseeing (also planned and organized for us by Haydar), it was a perfect place to call home and hibernate. Hope to return with all our five children! A special thank you to Haydar for a wonderful stay!

We had an excellent stay here. Really wonderful people owning and working here! haydar was very welcoming and helped us with lots of tips on food and walks - as well as helping to organise transport when we needed it. They were super sweet to our daughter. The room itself was very comfortable and had two beds carved into the wall. We loved it here.

SpainUrgup is difficult to understand with google maps. I suggest adding a street view image of the hotel to make it easier to identify as you arrive. This is really true for all of the hotels in the area.
Honestly, the entire experience exceeded my expectations! Haydar, our host, responded immediately to questions that I sent him. In fact, he even went out and bought gluten free bread for our breakfast when I told him that my son and I have celiac disease. He was waiting for us when we arrived and greeted us warmly! I looked at many hotels in the area. I thought the pictures of our room (Suite with Terrace) looked good, but they did not do the room justice! It was a beautiful room with a heated bathroom...and all of this comfort was packed into a cave...just like the ones that made Cappadocia famous.

United Arab EmiratesApproach road is paved with slightly irregular stones. Pathways are kind of steep.
It is not a hotel but a sort of a bnb hence it is unfair to expect a lavish spread. None the less, the cook there is excellent and made delicious eggs and pizza. The owner of the place Mr.Haider was very polite, friendly and helpful. He was on site 24hrs and took special care of us and provided us with whatever extras we needed. He also arranged for a personal guide Mr.Mustafa who took us around for a tour of important places in Cappadocia. You actually feel like you are staying in a cave but with modern day amenities and that is what makes your stay special.

GermanyOnly very minor details, strongly depending on what you are looking for. Not ideal for people with limited mobility or if you want to explore Ürgüp with kids without a car.
True hospitality! Nicely arranged cave room with a very comfortable double bed plus separate twin beds in their own little caves. Beautiful shared yard with a great view. Tasty breakfast with freshly prepared dishes and the most welcoming and supportive hosts. We would definitely stay there again.

RussiaThis hotel is awesome! All the small details are perfectly thought out to make your stay great. The hotel is small and cozy so you’ll be treated as the dearest guest while in other big hotels you’re just one of the 100 other guests and no one cares about you. The hotel owner was asking us how is our day, how is our stay, did we like everything, did we like ballon ride (which this hotel helped us to book). He even called us every morning when he was worried that we’ll be late for breakfast. And he speaks good English! Breakfast is amazing! They cook eggs the way you want them - scrambled, as omelette, boiled, they offer a big variety of food and even berries. They serve a table and even bring to your table fresh coffee and tea made specially for you! They have even offered us specials - gozleme and some Turkish pastries The staff is really kind and attentive, they make you feel at home Cave is unexpectedly cozy and warm, the bathroom is good and clean. The room has even got minibar and hair dryer. Be ready that Wi-Fi and 4G not always works in the cave! (for obvious reasons haha). But it’s the same for all the cave hotels. At least outside is the good WiFi and a lot of places to sit and work - you can chill near your room on the sofa, you can sit in the chase lounge, at the table, or upstairs on the swing. Also you can have a breakfast inside or outside. And the view! The view is just gorgeous! You can see the balloons on the sunrise and you see beautiful scenery with valleys and mountains. Also the great and not busy restaurant is just in the other side of the road And this city (Urgup) is much better than too crowded Goreme, we’re glad that we chose to stay here

United StatesIt was just perfect.
We were greeted by Hadar the owner upon arrival and he is a wonderful host. He let us pick our room since it was late in the season and we chose the third floor suite with a large terrace. The rooms are just like they are in the pictures and our bed was so comfortable. We had arranged for a balloon ride and Hadar checked in with them for us. He had breakfast ready when we got back(that was always more than we could eat and delicious) and set up a car rental which was delivered to the hotel. He had worked as a tour guide in Cappadocia for many years and told us a lot of places to go see on our own. His recommendations were spot on! You can walk to many good restaurants from the hotel. Hadar made our trip so special and felt right at home.

GeorgiaThe bed could have been softer, but I guess some prefer it on the harder side.
One of the best places, and certainly the most cozy little hotel we have stayed so far. This is an actual cave hotel, where rooms are carved into mountain massif. Within it's rooms there are all the necessary utilities to make your stay very comfortable. and it is attention to details what amazed me the most, inside as well as outside the room, garden, flowers, vintage pottery, ambient music in the background. Breakfast is incredible with the views over the valley ( yes you can see the balloons as well). Due to nature of cave hotels they are situated outside of city hassle and restaurants, it is approximately 1 km from city center and there is a steep uphill on the way, this is a bonus for some, because it is quiet and the views are totally worth it. BUT the real treasure are the host of this place Haydar, he was very attentive, give a bunch of goodies to the kids, give us a ride at night then we needed drug store, what an amazing person, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, you make this place stand out among others.
