    Not a typical cave!

    • Family with young children
    • Majestic Cave Suite
    • Stayed 3 nights

The only minor quibble we had was the in-room wifi, which required continual re-logging into and was highly variable in signal strength. I'm sure the staff would have fixed it for us and also I suspect the stone in the cave has a big impact on wifi signals too.

Kayakapi Premium Caves is a wonderful base to explore Cappadocia and has everything a traveler could want - large, incredibly well appointed cave suites; an excellent, extensive breakfast; amenities galore - from the gym, to a spa/hammam - and an exceptional view! But what really makes the place special is the staff and the level of service they provide. We worked extensively with Nihal in the main office who cheerfully helped us with all our tours, transfers and all the myriad of questions and requests we threw at her!

A Cave Hotel with Dream Modern amenities: Beating Heart of what Cappadocia is all about
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Majestic Cave Suite
    • Stayed 2 nights

    Nothing to say here.

Hotek Kaya Kapi was not our first choice. A Cave Hotel booked four months in advance canceled our booking and Kaya Kapi happened to us. In thirty years of our travel, we would count it as first among the best in terms of a very special and unique experience. An Entire Mountain of what was once many cave dwellings, has been converted to grand suites and apartments. We were given a round of the hotel and our apartment. In the living room we were shown the cave dwelling as it was before converting it to a grand apartment with a Hamam. We were shown where in the old cave we stood as we looked at the old photo. It was a grand experience, a travel in a time capsule. The apartment maintains the old roof and the niches and corners as they existed in the cave dwelling. The Apartment is beautifully designed with antique furniture with plug points at many places. It is the first hotel where I found a charging port on the bedside win a charger. That is surely thoughtful. The Location and views from many points of this vast property are beautiful, overlooking an entire village with red roofs that becomes a Fairy Land as lights come up. The hotel has Forty plus go carts to transfer the guests from one point to another and also to the center /downtown which is again very thoughtful, practical. The staff is very warm and efficient. We carry a part of the hotel back home and value it highly. As we were leaving, we were given a set of two coasters [ made of light, white rock] with our apartment name & number and the hotel name engraved on it. Beautifully done. One of the other memories I carry of the hotel is a beautiful collection of Tasbihs of the Promoter who first set up Kaya Kapi. It is surely a blessed place. Serene, Beautyful, Relaxing.

An excellent hotel and resort making the most of local historical caves

The wi-fi was slow and required you to continually reconnect every time you started up your devices. You also needed your passport number to sign in, at least initially, which is inconvenient. But at least it was free and did generally work. I suspect the speed issues are due to the availability of the necessary infrastructure in the area rather than directly down to the hotel themselves. Switching off while you're on holiday isn't necessarily a bad thing!

The Majestic Cave Suite we were allocated (Room 102) was wonderful. It was very close to reception but still extremely quiet. It looks like the entire complex is gradually being expanded as additional caves are restored and updated, but we didn't even notice any building works taking place. Golf carts are always available to ferry you around the site as there's quite a drop between reception and the restaurant/bar/pool areas. Highly recommended.

The only critique we have is that the sound insulation between the rooms was a bit poor. This was nothing that bothered us too much though. Everything else outshined that.

We had an amazing stay at Kayakapi Premium hotels this summer. The location, the staff, the pool, the breakfast and the restaurant in general exceeded all our expectations. Not to mention the authentic cave rooms that were very spacious and meticulously decorated. If I would go back to Kapadokya I would stay at Kayakapi again. We have already given recommendations to all our friends and family. If you decide to stay here you should not miss trying the Testi Kebab, a local Kapadokya dish, at the hotel restaurant. Just be aware you have to order it one day ahead. Also a big thank you to the kind staff Duygu who helped our dream come true in organizing the balloon ride. It was truly a spectacular experience!

The second bedroom didn’t have aircon and was a bit stuffy. The room was clean but some debris falls from the ceiling. The breakfast wasn’t great.
