How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI was warmly welcomed by Ozgur and the team who provided excellent service and were very helpful throughout my stay. I had a lovely room with huge kingsize bed and a terrace. Room was very clean. Great to have the rooftop pool for a swim too.The hotel is in the lively area of Laleli with lots of retaurants in the area. Very close to Metro and tram. Always felt safe as a solo female traveller, even after dark. Will certainly return if I can one day.

Verified reviewThe staff in this hotel were fantastic, really friendly and very helpful with all of our questions, especially Ozgur, Aybuke and Hasan. They did everything they could to help us with our stay, and were very friendly. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. The location is also excellent for exploring the city, the perfect base for walking as well as public transport options.
We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend it, and we hope to return. The hotel was very clean but the matresses could be changed.

Verified reviewThe hotel staff provided us a free upgraded room. The room was very large but surprisingly empty. There was a veranda but just two patio chairs.
The elevator was constantly breaking down. At one point we got stuck in the elevator for about five minutes. We were on the top floor and had to often take the stairs. Hasan, one of the hotel’s staff, conned my wife and I out of $40 claiming that was the cost for doing laundry. I’m sure he kept most of the money. Yes, it was our fault for giving him the money, but we didn’t have our guard up and we feel Hasan used that to con us out of $40 to do laundry. The breakfast buffet was more like a cattle trough. People were cutting in line, making a mess of everything. The pool was far smaller than the photos made it look.

Verified reviewThe room was excellent. Air-conditioning and a lovely juliet balcony.
We tried to eat in hotel restaurant at lunch time. Waiter got both our orders wrong. Unfortunately, mine was a vegetarian Tost, but when it came I bit into it and it had sausage in it.

Verified reviewNice hotel in a quite central location, close to main touristic attractions
Our de luxe room was big enough for few days stay, but have bathroom 1 step above, reducing too much the ceiling height (I am only 182 cm tall). Towels sometimes non really cleaned. Some regular maintenance would improve overall rating.

Verified reviewRoom size, swimming pool
Quality of breakfast, staff was nice but didn't listen to my request (I asked 4 different staff members to send someone to check TV cause it was not working and remote was broken. I stayed 5 nights but no solution), elevator is very old and it takes 10min to move upstairs or downstairs. Old facilities overall

Verified reviewThe hotel’s location is excellent, making it ideal for anyone wishing to visit the old city, especially in the Fatih district. It is conveniently surrounded by general stores, just 150 metres from the Fatih tram stop—which is only three stops from Sultan Ahmed—and only a 25-minute easy walk to the same location, right next to the famous Grand Bazaar. The underground is just 50 metres away. Hotel staff were very polite, helpful, and spoke good English, which made the stay even more comfortable. Breakfast and the canteen were reasonable, though the extra charge for some items that are provided as standard in other hotels was a disappointing touch.
We booked three rooms, but the family suite consisted of two very small bedrooms with inadequate lighting, resulting in a dark and confined atmosphere. The third room, a single, was larger, brighter, and city-facing; however, the bathroom ventilation system was inoperative for the duration of our stay, causing persistent odour issues. Sound insulation was notably poor, with noise easily transmitting through walls and TV systems. For four consecutive nights, neighbouring guests—likely children—played loud television from midnight until 6 a.m., significantly disrupting our stay. Despite multiple requests for a room change, the hotel was unable to provide an alternative, which was disappointing. Additionally, the bathrooms across all rooms were exceptionally small. Given the abundance of high-quality 4- and 5-star hotels in the Fatih area, we would not choose Klas again and would advise prospective visitors to book early and consider alternative options.

Verified reviewLocation close to the old city, staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean.
Bath tub on the roof was not working. It was filled with the water but massage jets did not operate, seems that pictures on booking are a bit old. Bathroom inside room needs to be refurbished. There were missing part from the door on shower, so the water spill out when showering. Children room on family room had just fake window, so the room does not have daylight.
