How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was very good. The hotel was close to the beach and the restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was tiny. I could touch both walls with my arms outstretched. I know it was a single room but it was so small there was no wardrobe, very little space to move around. The bathroom was also small, with a shower over the toilet. It was noisy at night from the bars right outside the hotel and very hot, especially as the room was so small. There was a/c but it rattled and made a noise.

Verified reviewThere was very little to like about this property, other than friendly staff and reasonable breakfast. I have been leading tours of Gallioli for 20 years and never before had the misfortune to stay in such a dreadful place. I will not be going back.
When you book a budget hotel, you expect a small room. These 'standard' singles were, however, so small that the bed blocked the door from opening. To enter or leave my room, I had to climb over the bed, twist, and bend my body to then squeeze through the 15 inch crack that laughably became the way out. Injury was added to insult when the sharp metal door mortice caught and ripped my shirt. All my complaints were ignored. There is virtually no space to open a case. The shower head in the tiny bathroom sits literally over the toilet. There's no room to turn around, and the room floods when the shower is on. The floor stays wet for hours. The place is dirty. In a 5 night stay, our rooms were not cleaned or made up once. 'We have terrible trouble getting staff', whinged the temporary manager. The room walls are so thin that you hear everyone's phone conversations. There is no point in complaining about the late night noise as the management doesn't respond to complaints.

The bathroom was too small for me to be able to have a shower in it,.

Verified reviewThe hotel is a very basic one. The single bedded room I booked was most likely a boat cabin but what more could I expect with the 20 euros I paid. Excellent location, very close to the port of the beach front and the markets. Very good option if you want to explore Canakkale city center

Verified reviewLocation. Parking not too far away.
Not possible to reach it by car in some times of the day. No elevator. Old furniture. Symbolic breakfast... no real food available. Not free parking as they advertise.

Verified reviewIt was really nice and I enjoyed the breakfast. The wifi worked well. The staff was nice. The location was close to lots of restaurants and the ferry station.
There is a smell of smoke. The street noise is quite much so if you have kids I would go somewhere quieter.

Verified reviewAmazing location, very close to port and in the humming city centre. Breakfast was minimal but a nice touch. Amazing staff!! When we arrived I had accidentally only booked for 1 instead of 2 of us. They were able to fix it up and were very helpful. Even lent us an umbrella when it was raining!
There was some bad smells in the hallways but the room was clean. Beware loud noises from street til late with music and loud cars/people.

Verified reviewLarge rooms.
The biggest problem is that the parking is unfindable on Google Maps or other similar service. Immediately after booking, the Hotel replied with the name of the private parking they work with. Additional charge applies for the parking, but it is OK. The parking itself is indeed quite near. However if you do not know an exact address, you cannot find it. I thought it is not a big problem, since I can park in front of the hotel for a while and ask for assistance. But the street in front of it appears to be a very narrow cobbled street in a crowded region (especially nighttime). I have a line behind me, including police car :) No way to stop at all. So we continued to a near petrol station, ask for paid parking, then leave the car there and went by foot to the hotel and ask for assistance. Just as an advice to the Hotel – guys, you can easily solve this problem and make the life of your guests travelling by car much easier – just tell the Parking to add themselves as a business on Google Maps, so that navigation can bring your guests directly to it. Another thing to mention – as the hotel is at the city center, in crowded region full of night life bars and restaurants, the environment is quite noisy until 1 a.m.

Verified reviewWhat a tourist trap! I wonder how it managed to get such a high rating. Perhaps it was once worth 3 stars. Today it barely deserves two. Where to begin? Cleanliness? The hotel smelled musty and old. The carpet was full of stains. A black t-shirt (accidentally left on what passes for a dresser) came up with white streaks of dust. Comfort? There is no lift. One of the two rooms was barely large enough to be single, but was rented as a double. It was much too narrow to accommodate two people and had no room for a closet - just bare walls and a couple of hooks (one broken). The other room had a closet, but the dressing table did not allow the door to open. One of the A/C units was dripping on the bed. Even though the unit worked all night, the room was still hot. There was no fridge in the (broken) fridge cabinet. All beds were uncomfortable. Maintenance? The shower head was broken, squirting water in all directions. The mosquito screens were torn. One of the windows refused to open. The toilet paper holder fell off with a loud crash. Both glass shelves in the bathrooms were broken and loose in their supports. We were afraid they'd crash if we put anything on them. Location? It is surrounded by night-clubs and other such venues. Both our rooms were literally thumping with music until the early hours of the morning. WiFi? Only at the lobby, poor and slow. It barely reached the 1st floor stairs. There was no signal above that. Breakfast? White bread, a few cucumbers and tomatoes, salty cheese, some fruit and hard-boiled eggs. Out of two nights booked, we stayed only one and regretted every minute. There are much better alternatives not 5 minutes away, for the same money. Only positive note was the staff: they were friendly and helpful, despite their limited English.

Verified reviewI was very disappointed of everything in the hotel. It was very dirty everywhere - in the room, in the bathroom, in the lobby and so on. All night was very noisy, because outside there is disco bar…I come back never again!!!
