How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe owner of the establishment, the receptionist and the staff are very smiling and friendly. The staff will come to the rescue if you call and will try to fulfill small requests. The place looks very nice, there are two pools and lots of trees, not far from the beach, there is a ping pong table and darts, there is even space to park somewhere +/- 10 cars, which is cool, considering the specifics of the location
There was incorrect information regarding the free airport transfer, which remained on the page for a week. According to the hotel representative, it was a mistake on the part of booking.com, which I am not sure about, since according to my information, each hotel can edit its own page. As a result, the hotel gave us the choice to upgrade our room to another one, which at first glance seemed better in all respects, and we chose it, but it turned out that there were periodic problems with the electricity, one of the sockets near the bed did not work, there was only one place to hang a towel, the toilet paper holder was broken, after being absent from the room almost every time upon returning there was an unpleasant smell that had to be aired. The room was cleaned by force, even if there was no "make up room" sign, while they touched the underwear that was on the bed, after contacting the receptionist with a request to tell the cleaners not to do this, nothing changed, which caused great irritation. Breakfast in this establishment is forcibly included in each room selection option and is a buffet in an open space without refrigeration, food on regular plates covered with cling film and often if you do not come at the very beginning then it is already heated, softened and there are a lot of flies around it, which completely kills your appetite. Also, a cat, a dog, chickens, a rooster and sometimes peacocks roam the territory. I do not consider this a big minus, after all, the specificity of the place in nature, but if you are a squeamish person like me then this can be annoying.

Despite being an ‘adults-only’ hotel, I saw several children. Every day after 11 p.m., the hotel turned into a dead place.

Verified reviewBreakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly.
Food and Beveridge were way too expensive and over priced. I thought the service fee for everything you buy drink or food was ridiculous. Don't think I'll be going back to Layla Gocek any time soon.
Dear Cemile, Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast and appreciated the friendliness of our staff. Providing a welcoming atmosphere is always among our top priorities. We also take note of your comments regarding our food and beverage pricing and the service fee. While our aim is to reflect the quality of our ingredients and service standards, we regret that this did not align with your expectations. Your feedback will be carefully reviewed as part of our ongoing efforts to improve both transparency and guest satisfaction. We truly value your input, as it helps us identify areas where we can enhance our services. Although we regret to learn that you do not currently plan to return, we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future under better circumstances. Verified reviewA filthy, stinking, pest-infested, and noisy dump. Don’t be fooled by the fake, carefully staged photos posted by the property. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. At first glance, when you arrive, it all looks idyllic—this illusion collapses within minutes of checking-in. We experienced countless problems during our stay at Layla Gocek. Upon checking into one of the main building rooms (Santos), we discovered the ceiling collapsing due to a water leak. The staff’s “solution” was to move us to one of the garden bungalows (Palmiye). That turned out to be far worse. After just a short while in this room, we were horrified to find RAT DROPPINGS on the bed, and the entire place was INFESTED with droppings—photos attached. When we demanded a solution, we were moved later that afternoon to another garden bungalow, where we spent the night surrounded by spiders and crawling insects. The bathroom was in a disgusting state, again, photographic proof provided. The next morning, after informing hotel management we refused to stay in the filthy garden bungalows, we were moved to our fourth room: Eucalyptus. Once again, this room failed to meet even the most basic standards of hygiene. Ants and other bugs roamed freely on the walls, there was mold in the shower, and the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Farm animals such as chickens, peacocks, and rabbits, and domestic animals like cats and dogs wander freely across the property, leaving droppings all over the ground and terrace furniture. This turns the entire hotel into a magnet for flies and bees. These insects swarm over all the breakfast buffet food, despite the half-hearted attempt to cover some dishes with plastic wrap. The hotel restaurant’s food is not only overpriced but utterly terrible—nothing like the delicious Turkish cuisine we enjoyed elsewhere during our trip. One night, they organized a so-called Turkish dinner with live music that blast
Dear Claudia, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly sorry to read that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you encountered several issues during your visit. Cleanliness and guest comfort are priorities for us, and we regret that we fell short in delivering the standards you rightfully expected. We have carefully noted your feedback regarding the rooms, housekeeping, and food service, and we are conducting a thorough review with our team to address the points you mentioned. Your concerns about hygiene and maintenance are being taken very seriously, and additional measures are being put in place to prevent such experiences from recurring. At the same time, many of our guests appreciate being surrounded by animals and nature, which is part of the character of our property, but we understand that this may not suit everyone’s preferences. Your comments will help us find a better balance. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the discomfort you experienced. We are committed to improving, and we hope you might consider giving us the opportunity in the future to provide you with the welcoming and comfortable stay that we aim for all our guests to enjoy. Warm regards, Layla Göcek Guest relations team

Breakfast was okay, but everything was wrapped in plastic, which looked a bit cheap The hotel feels somewhat outdated Our room (smallest category) was right next to the generator, which ran frequently due to regular power outages – very noisy The fridge made loud noises at night and woke us up several times For the price, the room was not worth it Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose to come back
Dear Anton, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the charm of our property, the animals, and our friendly staff. We regret that some aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. Due to regional conditions, power outages may occasionally occur, during which our generator operates to ensure guest comfort. We understand this may have been disruptive given your room’s location and are working on solutions to minimize the impact. Regarding breakfast, we offer a wide variety of daily buffet options along with complimentary à la carte egg and omelette selections prepared to your preference. Your comments on packaging have been noted for improvement. We appreciate your input and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Verified reviewThe hotel garden was beautiful and the food was very good.
It did not feel like a 4 star hotel. Everything was outdated. The food was very expensive. We had booked 3 nights but left after 1 night. The bathroom had mold.
Dear Unnur Vala, Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed our garden and appreciated the quality of our food. At the same time, we’re truly sorry to learn that your overall experience did not meet your expectations. As a boutique hotel, we aim to offer a unique and characterful experience, distinct from the standardized feel of large hotel chains. The furniture and decor throughout our property are carefully curated antique pieces — chosen not only for their beauty but also for their cultural and historical value. While we understand this aesthetic may not suit everyone’s preferences, we take great pride in preserving this authentic ambiance. Regarding the bathroom concern, cleanliness is one of our top priorities and your comment has been shared with our housekeeping team for immediate review and action. As for pricing, we strive to reflect the quality and freshness of the ingredients we use, along with the setting and service we offer. However, we appreciate your feedback and will continue to evaluate how we can improve the value perception for our guests. We sincerely regret that you decided to shorten your stay, but we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a more satisfying experience in the future. Warm regards, Layla Göcek Guest Relations Team

A little further out from Gocek than we realised when booking, but this wasn’t a problem!

Verified reviewThe staff were truly amazing. Wonderful in every way, always happy to help and very welcoming. The resort is gorgeous, so many mature palm trees, orange trees and kumquat trees. The breakfast they served daily was impressive with a lot of variety, a lot sourced from their own garden. They made the fresh orange juice from their oranges they said. Very generous. Layla is like a magical hidden away treasure and the people are the jewels in their crown.
We booked the honeymoon suite and were given a different room because it was off season and the honeymoon suite wasn’t available. This was our honeymoon so we wanted privacy. The room we were given was nice (especially the view) but it was smaller and not a suite. We were not offered compensation and we paid the same as we would have for the honeymoon suite. As we were the only people staying there the first 3 nights, we were happy with it. The last night they put people in the room right nextdoor to ours who were loud, drinking and smoking and singing late at night. This ended our stay in a negative way. With an empty resort, knowing we are on our honeymoon and it was our last night, with all those empty rooms, putting them right next to us was not a great idea. We lost our peaceful paradise and also our sleep. We didn’t know this but the walls are very thin between the rooms. Lastly, if you go off season, just note that the main pool will be empty and the restaurant, gym and spa will not be open. I think this should be noted on booking.com. It’s not fair to say you have all these things and show up with everything closed. They were also doing construction during the day with hammering by the pool, 3 out of our 4 days. The only thing that we really missed was having a restaurant on site and we wished we had known it would be closed when we booked. We had to go into Gocek for dinner in the evenings which adds another €15 for taxis unless you have your own car, which we didn’t.

Verified reviewIt is hard to describe a perfect place like this. Even before our arrival, we felt welcomed and well informed. The place itself is not the highly polished tourist trap, it is a garden of warmth and wellbeing. The breakfast is plenty and local. Snacks, cocktails and dinner are just as amazing -- we never felt the need to eat out. Your room is being cleaned without you noticing, the peacocks are quite funny when they walk through the area. All the staff are great to talk to and the owner is a really funny and pleasant guy. All in all ... a clear recommendation! We will be back
The owners told us, they are going to add heating to one of the pools and better internet connection (maybe some mesh wifi instead of 3 different SSIDs too) - which will fix everything one might complain about. Everything else was just perfect!

Verified reviewTwo large swimming pools, well-equipped with comfortable sunbeds etc. Large and comfortable bedroom ( in main house) with large balcony overlooking pool. Beach is a few minutes walk away, through a wooded area. Dining by the poolside or in a dedicated restaurant building if it’s cool outside.
Interesting and unusual menu didn’t always hit the spot for us.
