How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood location to cathedral, castle, mosque, museum and main streets, as well as transport.
Only one staff member spoke English, so was a little challenging to communicate. Power went off once and wi fi wasn’t great in rooms.

Verified reviewLocation. Very near to most of the ancient remains in Salcuk area.
Very basic hotel. Breakfast was less than basic with below par food items. Below Cheap butter, cheese and jams etc. Taps in washroom were broken. Hot water came after a significant wait. Low water pressure. In Pakistan we call such hotels a truck-drivers' hotel where you only get a basic sleeping bed (charpoy) and nothing else under open sky. The only difference here was a - thank God - working AC and a ceiling. No locker in room, old style door locks with key, almost everything was archaic. What disappointed me the most was the high rating it got on booking.com. I had a lot of expectations seeing the rating but it was far less than a basic 1 star hotel

Verified reviewLocation was good. Close to restaurants for dinner. Down the street from the Efes Museum. We had a car and drove down from Izmir Airport. Staff was grumpy at first, but kind afterward by giving us a 2L six pack of water. Breakfasts were so-so, could have had more variety every day. We booked on two tours, one to Pamukkale and to Efes. Tour guide was very good. AC in the room worked, thank goodness.
Parking was an issue. The whole place needs a facelift, stair carpets are worn and holey, the place needs painting, the bathroom had a lot of mould in the shower along the floor. The shower doors don’t close properly, so on the first night after I had used it, I found a big swimming pool on the floor beneath the sink. It’s the first hotel I’ve ever been in where I had to clean up the floor of the bathroom. Our room facing the back garden is not sound proof. Men talking until 12:45 AM kept us up until I yelled at them to shut up from my bed. Then they went inside. The place does not look like it’s been kept up and not as in the photos. Place needs a good clean. TV couldn’t turn on, too small. The bed was lumpy. I had back aches in the morning. Room was small. I overpaid for such a place. We stayed three nights, they only gave us towels and toiletries for the first night. We asked for towels, toiletries and toilet paper but nobody obliged. Also we were cold without a blanket and no blanket was given.
thanks

Verified reviewI would not recommend this hotel. My experience was far below expectations, and I believe some reviews on Booking.com may be misleading. It seems there may be efforts to encourage overly positive feedback, which doesn’t reflect the reality.
- The pricing suggests a 4-star standard, but the quality and service fell far short of that. - Customer support was extremely poor. The staff member at the front desk was unhelpful and dishonest about the internet connectivity issue. The problem was only resolved after I directly contacted Mr. Ismail. - Cleanliness was lacking, and breakfast was very disappointing — both in quality and hygiene. - There is no direct vehicle access to the hotel. Guests must walk from the main road with their luggage, and no one offered assistance. - Upon arrival, the reception was unattended, and the entrance was poorly lit most of the time. - A staff member frequently smoked at the hotel entrance and showed a lack of professionalism and basic hospitality. - The overall management team, including Mr. Ismail, could benefit greatly from formal training in hotel operations and guest services.
thansk you ...

Verified reviewGreat location. Easy walk to bus or train station. Across the road from dolmus to Ephesus. Breakfast is great for a vegetarian/vegan. In addition to normal items there were always 2 cold veggie dishes. The ladies that worked there were very nice and welcoming. There is a tree lined sidewalk to Temple of Artemis and most of the way to Ephesus. Ephesus is not that big and dolmus drops you off at lower north entrance. If you get there first thing, you can beat some of the tour groups to the library as they seem to start at the upper south gate. There is no reason to take a taxi.
The economy twin only has a window to the air shaft.
Thank you Melinda for staying with us, hope can see you again with you!
