Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamThe breakfast is quite poor to be honest, hope they can improve on this
The staff are excellent, they are very warm and welcoming. You can’t beat the location, right next to the tram station which can take you everywhere in minutes, the area is very lively and not so touristy with a mall, and plenty of bars and restaurants. The room is clean and cozy

AustraliaThe bar lacks a bit of atmosphere, the spa and gym probably are due a renovation. Some of the property is starting to show a bit of wear and tear. The staff could have provided a bit more local guidance or places to go etc.
Well designed hotel in the trendy area of Karaköy. The staff were really helpful. The bedroom and bathroom was really luxury with views over Karakoy. The spa facilities and gym are also pretty good for a city stay.

United StatesBreakfast was solid. The tea was excellent, but the coffee left a lot to be desired—we actually asked for instant coffee instead. There were quite a few items on the buffet that no one seemed to touch. They could probably simplify the spread without losing quality. The hotel itself is quite old. According to one of the staff, it was renovated three years ago, but honestly, that wasn’t very apparent. Maybe some rooms got a facelift, but the overall feel didn’t reflect a recent renovation. The hallways were painted in dark colors and lit by motion sensors, which made them feel gloomy and a bit eerie. Not my favorite vibe. We also had a few maintenance issues—our in-room coffee maker broke and was never replaced. Small things like that added up and gave the impression that the hotel might be operating on a tight budget.
We stayed in early July and had a pleasant experience. First off, the staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive. You really can’t ask for better service. Our room was clean and comfortable, with both AC and a fan that kept things cool. I do wonder how well it holds up in the hotter August weather. The location is excellent—walking distance to plenty of restaurants and local spots. A word of caution: the lower-priced rooms are very small, and the windows face interior walls, which makes them feel a bit claustrophobic. We ended up switching to an upgraded room and paid about 50% more. If you're booking, I’d recommend going straight for the upgraded option—it’s worth it.

South AfricaWhen we first got there, we were not sure about the location of the place. However, once we explored, we quickly discovered that it was perfectly located to everything. The tram station is right outside like a 2-minute walk away. It has an entire block of restaurants and bars literally across the street. We found it so convenient for us, really. It's definitely a must book. It's close enough to everything one would want to be around. Next time we are in Istanbul we will definitely book this place. The room had great aircon which was needed as outside was really hot. Room has everything we needed. We didnt spent much time in the room anyways as we were always out and about. They also have a lovely rooftop restaurant with great views of the city.

United KingdomThe room was £147 per night and was very spacious, but could have been slightly less basic for this price.
The location was great, next to 2 tram stations and close to a the lively neighbourhood of Karakoy which has lots of bars and restaurants, and a short walk to Gelataport which was fab. The staff were super friendly, had great local knowledge and cleaning service was great. Also included a basic gym and spa.

ArgentinaThe only shortcoming was our double bed which was only 130 sm wide! It’s worth checking it before booking a room (our mistake!).
It’s not so easy to find a hotel with nice design and an affordable price-quality relation in Istanbul. This one is rather an exception. It’s conveniently located - not far away from Galata Tower and a few meters away from Galataport and Istanbul Modern (partner of the hotel, so you will get free entrance tickets upon arrival). Rich breakfast - I consider Turkish breakfasts the best in the world!

United StatesThey had a huge balcony and breakfast area on the roof, also what appears to be an old bar. We thought there was a bar upstairs but when we went it looked like it was under renovation or just forgotten. When we went to watch sunset, as we didn’t have much time to go anywhere else that day, staff came to tell us we had to leave because it was closed. However, why can we not watch sunset in an open area on the roof? Who are we hurting? They even Iocked the breakfast area with chairs and tables. Why? They are wasting such a great opportunity as they have a rooftop and it’s almost rude that they would rather have the roof empty then let us sit and watch the sunset. In my opinion, if you aren’t going to have a bar at least open the breakfast rooftop area during the day and evening for people to hangout and watch the view. Why close it? It seems petty and was the only negative experience, if there was somewhere to watch the sunset then my review would be 10/10.
Amazing lobby, great room and very clean. Staff were very welcoming and gave us a special request to have a coffee machine. Loved the area and for the price, everything was great.

NetherlandsThe hotel shows some signs of wear and tear. The floor boards just in front of the bathroom were coming up (apparently some water damage) and there were tears in the wallpaper in the room. For us these were minor issues, especially since the room was clean.
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. We had a balcony room with sea view on the seventh floor. There is only a partial sea view but it was still nice. The room had floor to ceiling sliding doors with access to the (small) balcony. The room was much nicer than we had expected, it was lovely to just sit there and look out through the large windows drinking a complementary cup of Nespresso. The room was spacious as was the bathroom with a good shower (although the green tiles in the bathroom seem a bit outdated). We did not include breakfast in our booking but we did try the breakfast on our last day. It was reasonable but I much more enjoyed trying one of the many breakfast places that were in the Karakoy neighborhood. However, the view from the breakfast area (9th floor) is great (sea view on one side and Galata tower on the other side). Karakoy is a very nice and lively area and you're very close to Galata Port as well. We enjoyed staying at this hotel!
