Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI think some of the rooms may allow smoking, and you could smell cigarettes in the hallway sometimes.
The family that owns the property is super hospitable, and always doing what they can to make you feel at home. They give you sound advice about traveling around, and are so generous to always offer you some tea from their shop next-door. The air conditioner worked great, the water pressure was adequate and the water temperature was nice and warm. There is no elevator so you will have to walk upstairs. Also just downstairs if you’re facing the street is a restaurant/bar and at night they can be a little loud, so we just used a white noise app and were able to sleep fine without hearing them. Very convenient to all the popular tourist areas to see. The metro was also nearby and we used it the whole time. Always felt safe in the area, even coming home later.

The room seems just re-decorated, very new, super clean and quiet, staff are so kind, friendly and helpful, English are fluent, no barriers for communication. The location can walked to SultanAmet, Hogia Sofia Mosque, Yerebatan, police man everywhere, safe and convenient! The restaurant under the hotel have nice hookah and Turkish tea, and the next door there's one shop sell some beautiful and high quality carpet and coffee tea pod.

MoldovaThis is a four-storey building with no elevator and steep steps. It was ok for me, but can be unsuitable for some people.
One of the main advantages of this hotel is its location. It is in the centre of the old town, 5 minutes walk from the main attractions. Another advantage is the people who run the hotel: friendly and always ready to help. It is a good place to stay and relax.

BulgariaThe room was quite small, which made it feel a bit cramped. Also, there was a lot of noise at night from the busy street with many restaurants and bars nearby, which may be expected in such a lively area.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to many attractions, making it easy to explore Istanbul. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.

Czech RepublicGreat location, couple of minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi. Tram stop is also nearby. The room was good - small but very cozy, comfortable bed, blackout curtains, fridge. Also, the hotel has a roof terrace with an access for anyone staying in the hotel. It was nice to take some food takeaway and enjoy the dinner with the great view. The staff was nice and spoke English very well. Very pleasant stay.

SpainIf you can’t sleep with airconditioning on avoid this place it is very hot in the building and sleeping with the windows open is imposible. It is very noisy at night since there is a pub right next to the hotel that plays music until 3 am, a lot of taxis passing by and the calling for prayers very early in the morning.
The overall experience was ok. The staff is the best part, they are nice and ready to help always. The location is perfect for visiting the main tourist places.

GermanyIt will be good to have a breakfast offer. The hotel terrasse is a suitable place for that. Even a simple breakfast will be fine.
The hotel is a 5–7-minute walk from Sultanahmet Square and the tramway stop. Many important sites, like the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, and Topkapi Place, are within walking distance. Other sites are easily reachable by tram T1. The hotel personnel are very friendly. The room was clean and freshly renovated. The shower cabin was convenient with a good cold/hot water supply. The room facilities included a TV, a safe, and a fridge.

PolandQuite intense smell of cigarettes, probably from the ventilation - every morning. Uncomfortable, hard bed. Stains on the towels (I hope only because they are probably very old). The staff doesn't speak English. Zero privacy and data security rules. They make a copy of your ID document. They should just write down the ID number. This is very bad practice. There are also papers with scans on the desk. Not good place for people who can not sleep next to quite loud bars with music, etc.
Good location, just ok hotel. Nice for short stay.

United KingdomIt would’ve been good for the rooms to be provided with a kettle and some water. But this isn’t really a big deal, as there’s a shop right next to the hotel which sells water. They have a lovely terrace, which isn’t used, but if it was cleaned, would have been a really nice place to sit in the evening.
It was in an excellent location, within walking distance of everything you want to see. The staff were friendly and rooms very clean. The beds were comfortable and the accommodation seemed to be recently renovated.
