How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewStarting with the positives: Abdi and Ayten, have been the sweetest caretakers. The food they cooked were delicious and the way they treated us made us feel like we’re at home. The terrace was beautiful with the most perfect view of the hills, sunset and hot air balloons. There were quite a few souvenir shops and restaurants downhill which made the stay quite convenient. Chavusin is overall a calm little village where you can admire the view and feel like a local.
Fatih. Absolutely unresponsive and nonchalant. As if someone is holding him at gunpoint to run this hotel. He was not present during our checkout. On our last night there we faced a horrible incident. At 12 am at night, we woke up hearing a loud scream of a woman (2/3 times), lots of banging doors and hurried footsteps. A car (or ATV?) kept coming and going. And a dog kept barking consistently. We kept contacting Fatih about the situation but there was no response from him. We kept wondering if there was some kind of abduction/murder going on outside, we were scared for our lives and kept thinking if we’re next. The terrace connects all the rooms together and anyone from the outside could enter our room through the terrace (since the terrace door lock is kind of flimsy), so you can imagine how traumatised we were. Thankfully, after an hour, everything calmed down and we went back to sleep. We still don’t know what happened that night and we’re so grateful that it was our last night there.

Verified reviewThe hotel has excelent location near the Cavusin center but in its nice and quite corner, close to cave houses and chapel. The hotel has cozy atmosphere, rooms are really digged into the rock. We enjoyed rich breakfasts and during evenings terraces with amazing views. Personal was very friendly and helpful.
Some equipments like spot lights in room need maintenance, airflow in the spa hasn't worked but those vere just minor issues.

Verified reviewThe hotel is simply excellent. It is located in a sparsely populated part of the Goreme National Park, so being there you are soaked in the atmosphere of deserted cave settlements. Right behind the gates of the hotel (as well as the hotel itself) the cave houses begin, so there is no need for additional excursions, you can explore everything yourself, stopping for a cup of coffee on the terrace. The view from the terrace is also stunning =) I would like to separately note the breakfasts - they are excellent, the best of all that I had in Turkey

Verified reviewBest place to stay in the region I would say. Really can't recommend it enough - our three night stay was great beginning to end! Hosts are very welcoming and assist you with everything you may need. Facilities are clean and comfortable. View is the best possible.. there is balloon view, sunset view.. and even privacy and quietness in the area.. Parking is easy. The breakfast was maybe the best breakfast I was served anywhere - homemade and delicious with a lot of variety. If you plan to do a balloon flight or other activities - reach out to the hosts, they will help out and possibly at a better price than elsewhere.
No room for improvement here, the place is just perfect :)

Verified reviewThe staff gave us such a warm welcome after a very long journey, and were so lovely with my four small children. The room felt like an authentic cave room and was very warm with comfortable beds and a hamam bath. Breaskfast was huge and delicious! There were lots of people around to help with arranging tours and trips and the children really enjoyed climbing the rocks to the church and cafe opposite the hotel.

Verified reviewThe Cave rooms were awesome. We felt very cosy and comfortable. The sunset view from the deck was unforgettable. The old couple in charge of food and facilities were very very sweet and friendly.
The location is a little away from Goreme..which is the happening part of Cappadocia. But then this hotel is in a quiet and not too crowded location which makes it better if you are looking for a peaceful stay.

Verified reviewOnly the breakfast was great with very careful people.
I didn’t like the attitude that they don’t understand the English language when they don’t want to hear complains. The room we’ve got was without window, just a door up on a terrace, smelling really bad of humidity and mold. If we had any astma or allergy it would be bad for our health. The location looks great from distance but for sure it needs refurbishment for hydro isolation. Also the dinner for 25euro/person with no drinks was also overrated. The real value of the food was 10-15 euro max/person. My feeling was that they want just money no matter how the customer feels …this is the main focus.

Verified reviewIt’s a great location, some of the places that the tours will take you on are right at your doorstep. You’ll also spot the balloons every morning. The food is some of the best in Cavusin. But more than anything else the highlight is the staff; Fatih, Ayten, and Abdi are some of the kindest and nicest people I met in Turkey. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. My wife sprained her leg and the nearest medical shop was 5kms away but Abdi was kind enough to take me on his bike to get bandages. You can’t ask for more.

Verified reviewThe Village cave Hotel has met and gone beyond our expectations. Mr Fatih, the owner was super helpful and accommodating. Our king suite was a jaw dropping experience. The location is great to travel everywhere in Cappadocia. The view was phenomenal. I would give it a 12 stars if I could. Highly recommended.

Verified reviewIt was an actual cave hotel. Good setting and ambiance. Good location. Great staff. Fresh and local items in the breakfast.
It is not a comfy stay, because of the cave setting. . So don't plan for a long stay. Semi Open bath. Not much spread in breakfast
