How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewThe property is right in the centre of everything, a walk away from the main attractions. The staff is very helpful and friendly! The hotel is clean and we could see the sea from our window.
There’s a few constructions sites close to the hotel so at times it could be a bit loud in the morning, nothing they could control and not their fault. Still quiet considering the area and the sites.

The owner had something to complain about everyday
Unfortunately, the attention, interest and sincerity we showed you from the day you arrived at our hotel until the day you checked out were in vain. Because your sincerity and smiling face were fake.You came with a reservation for 2 economy rooms on the basement floor. We gifted you rooms with sea views on the upper floor of the hotel.And we did not charge you any extra fees.Unfortunately, you made the wrong reservation for your requests such as a microwave oven. You would have to go to an apartment, not a hotel. If you don't want to pay for food outside, you could shop at the market and cook at home.As the hotel management, unfortunately we suffered from the attention and care we showed you and you did not deserve the attention and care we showed and you left the air conditioners on for 24 hours when you left the hotel room and you did everything you could to damage the hotel by leaving the air conditioners on for 24 hours even when you were not in the hotel room. Do you leave the air conditioners on for 24 hours in your own home? You pay 40 euros for an economy room and let's use these 40 euros until the end and leave the air conditioners on as much as we can, unfortunately, Pakistani culture is like this, people who do not know the holiday culture and behave like a European guest

There was a very bad smell in the toilet, which was told to come from the sewer. The cover for the blanket had some marks, not dirty, but yellow marks from several uses.

Verified reviewFirst of all, I would like to thank the owner and the manager. They did their best to make make guests feel comfortable. Location is good. It's quite and close to the main attraction of Istanbul - Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, and Sultanahmet, which is a very atmospheric historic district. The building is new, and it's cozy inside. Our room was on the 3 floor and there was a great view at the Marmara Sea. The bed was quite comfortable and pillows, too. There were no problems with water, and the room could be easily heated with the a/c, which was important during the winter season. They gave us water for free. There was also the fridge in the room.
The location is so that it's there is a busy part of the street below and it makes it difficult to get a taxi to the hotel. There is a train path just next to the hotel, and though it's not annoying, some can be embarrassed by this. The smell of sewerage is really annoying and spoils overall impression. The bathroom is small.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect - steps away from the Blue Mosque and other Sultanahmet monuments. Tuba was the most accommodating, helpful host. She sorted out all our taxi and food troubles quite cheerfully and efficiently. All in all: Pretty little place- we would definitely recommend.
The view wasn't great, and the three flights of stairs were a bit of a job after a long day of sightseeing. But not a big deal.

The reservation manager Tuba, I have no idea how they become a manager. Irresponsible, and you always have to ask and remind them to do something, for example, reserve a transfer or give you slippers.
