How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location is great, very close to galata tower, but its not very easy to find in the first time and some parts of the area is a bit dark, but didnt bother us. The apartment was clean and the guy that checked us in was very helpful.
The shower could be better.

Verified reviewInput conditions: vacation for a week with my mom. Temperature +33+35, it felt like +38 sometimes. We had the following priorities: - two-room apartments, so that each had its own space - Availability of a kitchen and equipment to be able to prepare food - refrigerator - air conditioning, in Turkey in the summer without this parameter I can not imagine how anyone can survive without it. - location should not be in a sharp hill, not with paving stones as mom 60+, can suddenly have problems with the leg, maximum 10-15 minutes to public transport ( train / subway ) - adequate price When I arrived, I just caught the owner and the crew fixing minor bugs, I got the keys without any problems. Very nice was the addition of a mobile air conditioner for the bedroom, my mom was delighted (thank you 100 times for that!). About the dishes - we found everything that we needed to use. The dishes looked clean. We have a rule that in apartments, even if the dishes look clean, we rinse them again before using them. Towels - of course they were clean. But we used the washing machine and threw them in there as well. After a 2 hour wash, they were crisp with cleanliness in a way they weren't when we checked in. I recommend using this mode) Accommodation is fine. I was not disturbed by the mosque, my mom was warned in advance that the mosque is very close by. She described the experience as “authentic, very interesting in fact”, at home we have an Orthodox church nearby and the bells are always ringing. Bedroom - mom felt comfortable. Living room - two sofa beds. I am 177 cm tall and when I slept, my toes were hanging down a bit. When I moved the sofas closer together, it was certainly better. Not enough pillow or pillowcases. There are two pillows in the bedroom, but my mom needed them. In the living room there were small sofa pillows, firm, I love those, but there were no pillowcases for them.
Just a suggestion :) When you are living in an apartment there is always a question of buying such items as dishwashing liquid, sponges for washing dishes, washing powder, salt, sunflower oil, olive oil and so on. One thing that is certain is that the dishwashing sponge is refreshed with each guest check-in. It would be a great addition to buy basic refill containers and sign them. Most likely each guest buys something and leaves more than half of it. We brought some laundry powder, for example, but then we saw under the sink that there was a box, but it was unclear if there was definitely laundry powder in there. For products such as oils, it would be great to sign the date. It is clear that in a month may not be used, but it does not spoil, and if you see a bottle not dated, I would rather buy a new one)))) Just in case if it has been open for a year - who knows).

Verified reviewOsman made sure we checked in well with clear instructions and the apartment is nicely located just 5 minutes walk from Galata Tower. The apartment has all the mentioned utilities. So Location and Utilities are Big Pluses.
Needs maintenance so bit Pricey for the condition. Kitchen utensils need an upgrade. The bathroom needs a stopper and ventilation..

Verified reviewThe host, Osman, is very amiable and helpful. The apartment is clean and cozy, providing an at-home feeling. The location is great, allowing you to easily walk to the Galata Tower or Istiklal Street, or take a tramway to Hagia Sophia. The price is surprisingly affordable for such a well-located place.
It may get hot during the summer. The air conditioning struggles to cope with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent; Ataturk Bridge was 2 minutes away, while Istiklal Street and Galata Tower were each 10 minutes away. Everything was very close. The apartment was cozy and comfortable. Everything we could possibly need was there. The host was a very respectful and kind person who was available whenever either we needed assistance or had a question in a short time. I really appreciate your availability and generosity.
Horrible Wi-Fi. The bathroom was small.
