There were many bad reviews in the review, but most of them were not true.. I was really comfortable living here and a lot of things happened because of my mistake, but the hotel manager answered and solved the problem faster than anyone else (when I lost my key)!! They say it’s a dangerous area, but the people living in yenikapi are more generous and kind than anyone else..! Don’t judge it’s dangerous just by looking at the area. It was nice that it wasn’t hot because there was a fan in the room!! I recommend this hotel🤓

    Not much

Do not stay here! I had 2 bookings. the first room i was put in was downstairs in a basement style room with a tiny window near the ceiling. There is no door between the bedroom and the bathroom, as it is the same room, and the whole room stinks from the plumbing. There is minimal ventilation and very uncomfortable. The other room i was put in on my 2nd booking was better however the owner tried to scam me. I had paid the first booking for downstairs using card on booking.com as it was an option. Then i asked if i could pay for the 2nd booking using my card through booking.com again as it was showing as an option but he said no it needed to be cash. So i paid him cash. 4 days later i checked out, and 2 days after checkout i got a notification from my bank that they tried to charge the full amount to my card. Luckily i had no money on that card as i did this on purpose as i had read previous reviews of the owner doing the same scam and charging their card a few days after departure after already paying cash. I dont understand why booking.com continue to allow this accommodation to keep accepting bookings. They are not an actual hotel, its just a building with multiple rooms. When i first arrived there was no one to check me in. Luckily i had data on my phone and i whatsapped the owner and he came around 20 minutes later.

located close to the metro and marmaray, had great internet, functional bed and bathroom

window is very tiny and since it is on the ground floor, it needs to have a screen installed to keep mosquitoes out - i didn't open the window the entire time and, as such, the room was a bit stuffy also, my room was on the ground floor right next to the lobby check-in entrance area and you could hear absolutely EVERYTHING - there were people (other residents of the building maybe?) talking in the lobby area until 2 or 3 in the morning, so i had to turn up a white noise youtube video on my laptop very very loudly to drown them out and to be able to sleep unfortunately, on the last night there was a power outage at 2 in the morning and when the white noise video stopped, i was awoken by two people talking right outside my door - the power didn't return until 10am the next morning

Nothing because I never got to see a room because there was no one there to let me in !.

When I booked the room at this ‘hotel’ I said my plane would be landing at 00.20 so I would arrive very late. “No problem you can check in when you want” was the reply. Again before my flight took off I reminded the ‘hotel’ that I would be arriving very late as my plane lands at 00.20. I arrive and there is no sign or number outside the building to let you know it is a hotel. I phone and phone the number and no one answers. I am stuck late at night on the streets of Istanbul with my bags. I then see a message from the ‘staff’ saying “reception closed, you can not check in after 1.00am. Perhaps they could have told me this before I arrived, I had told them twice I would be very late. So I never saw my room or staff of Yenikapi hotel. Not even a sign outside the building to say that it was a hotel. My advice to other travellers is don’t waste your money !.

Room was very cheap and met expectations based on price. Location of hotel is quite awesome, just try to travel while they are not imprisoning presidential candidates, then there are protests very close by. But that's in no way mistake of the hotel. Staff is very kind.

Facilities sometimes stinked and the neighborhood initally seemed dangerous/threatening, although nothing really happened and after a few days it actually seemed like a nice community- it's just that initial shock :D best if you don't arrive after dark, so that you have chance to get to know the houses and people while there is still light.

They asked me to cancel through the app and have not responded to my messages. They claimed there was an issue with the room, but I believe they are dishonest and have not refunded my payment.

No one at the property, poor communication couldn’t get in touch, area was really deprived and ghetto , I came past midnight no one was there so had to go and stay somewhere else it’s not a hotel it’s like a hostel in a very bad part of Istanbul even taxi drivers don’t like going to this area.

Nothing to like about the hotel !

Entrance smell cat pisss Absolutely disgusting hotel , bathroom, I have no words ,full with mould all over the room , broken tiles , and the sheets has not been changed from previous guest , I couldn't lay on the bed at all , I slept on the chair and in the morning I had rashes ( bug beds !!) It's was one of the most disgusting hotels I ever experienced on my life , no toilet roll , unsafe wires on the wall , the curtains dirty , mould in the room , patches everywhere ...I think that the guy needs to pay for the guest to sleep there instead of opposite ! Bottle of water open filed from the tap , the glass not washed

Location is optimal. The room was unexpectedly bigger, sunnier (upper floor) and with bigger/better/cleaner bathroom than last time (it was my second stay at Yenikapi). Also location/price/value is unbeatable for someone passing through Istanbul with one night in the city. Check-in/check-out very efficient, does not require any involvement from the personnel

The hotel is very basic which is reflected by the price. If you are in for a romantic/family vacation, this is not your place.

There really wasn't anything I liked, I would recommend a different accommodation

The owners are scammers. Even though I chose the option to pay in cash upon my arrival, which I did, my card was still charged a couple of days later, and I was refused a refund because "I didn't pay much" (I payed what the price was). The accommodation is in a bad, filthy location, surrounded by animals (chickens!), and I had an especially hard time finding it when I arrived at night after a long flight. There are better, more convenient and cheaper options for accommodation in Istanbul

Pros: very cheap, close to central, good wifi, private bathroom

The immediate location is a bit dodgy, it took me a day to get used to it (6 foot solo male). The room has no ventilation / AC, the window is about 15-20cm wide so it gets very hot. Still, good value for money

In this budget it was perfect for me as this was a separate room, neat and clean and the most important part was Mr. Suat Terzioglu he is so cooperative man .

Property itself is not bad , but what happened with my reservation is just the worst experience of my life . I have been in 8 different countries, and this booking gave the biggest headache ever!I had a reservation just for one night, but I’m in Istanbul for 5 days, till 18th of July . I was waiting for my uncle to respond me whether he can host me for those days or not . Once Mr Suat asked me about my stay , I told him that I’m not sure do I need hotel for the rest of days or not. So he suggested me to pay him in cash for 5 nights , we went to exchange money and I payed 3250 liras, but with condition that if my uncle respond me and call to his place, he’ll refund all of the rest of my money . 1 hour after that I got an answer from my uncle , and he sent taxi for me , so I left the hotel , with my luggage and left the keys on the rogue , so practically stayed just for 3 hours. I texted mr Suat about my check out, and requested him to charge me for this night 13-14 July, and refund the rest,it’s 80$ , but he never did, avoiding meetings with me , and giving for excuse and imaginary manager who’s accountable for reservations and money, and he can’t do anything about it. So I asked for this managers contacts 3 times, he just ignoring me and I never got the number . Unserious, unreliable , and not professional service at all , so they just scammed me for 80$ , now they just not responding me . 0/10
