I stayed at The Traum Place as a solo female traveler, and I can honestly say it was one of the most heartwarming experiences of my journey. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely safe and cared for something that can be rare when traveling alone. Professor Rajendran Ramlogan, his wife Kareena, Stephan King, and Monika welcomed me with such kindness and treated me like family. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, helped me get to my exam, and even showed me around beautiful local spots. What I found most special is that this place is not just a bed and breakfast; it’s a true cultural experience, full of warmth, humility, and genuine hospitality. The people here reminded me that kindness and humanity still exist in the world. Trinidad now holds a special place in my heart because of them, and I am truly grateful I found The Traum Place at this stage of my life. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for not just accommodation, but a safe, caring, and unforgettable experience.

There is nothing to dislike about this property!!!

The property itself was beautiful, quiet and very peaceful. The main house is spacious, rooms are clean and a good size, the kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and cookware you need. The pool is wonderful, always clean with plenty of wildlife to watch while you soak in the sun, with a nice patio to sit and relax. It is a little paradise in the middle of the island. The owner and staff treated us like family. Very warm, caring and helpful. Made us feel at home the moment we arrived. This will be our place to stay EVERY time we come to Trinidad!!

The hot water in the shower was inconsistent.

The host and care consultant were very accommodating. The location is convenient with supermarket and shopping within close proximity. The property is double-gated and there is a security system to make guests feel secure. The rooms and living spaces are large and very clean. There is a shared kitchen, but I also had a mini fridge in my room. The library, historical musical instruments and art pieces are lovely additions to the decor. The overall ambience was relaxing and peaceful.

I initially checked in with staff because I had a early morning arrival 2:15 am. The lead concierge Monisha checked with me prior to my arrival to ensure I had airport pick-up. When I needed a cell phone charger Monisha again supported this need. Also there was no fixed check-out time. The most interesting fact about the stay was each room had a familial theme. My room was the owner-innkeeper's grandmother, who came to the island as an indentured servant. . One of her adages for life was: "If you make 50 cents, save 2 cents. Don't spend it all! Her wisdom lead to the Traum House Owner's esteemed academic and literary success.

The shared kitchen worked out very good. Absolutely no problem as was not expected. It was big, much appliances and proper big dining area with seating, table etc.

Did grocery at Massey. Very close to location. My two grandchildren enjoyed the pool to the fullest. The host was most welcoming and detailed. Security gate, etc.

Being from WV of the USA and my first time in Trinadad, I was not sure what to expect at the Traum House. I was pleasantly surprised with an Island Paradise. The room was clean, I had a private bathroom, a fridge in my room, and Netflix. The common room was a shared kitchen with plenty of ice. Oh the room was as cold as you like it with a top notch wall a/c unit rated #1 on Amazon. The pool was so serene with so many beautiful orange flowers surrounding the crystal clean water, an outdoor shower and bathroom, and a gazebo area with hammock, barbeque grill, and plenty of chairs and tables. There was an interesting library of books and historic artifacts in the common area. I felt safe within the gated area and it was right in the heart of the real Trinadad. It was in walking distance to markets and pizza. I did decide to get a Papa John's pizza and Subway because I missed USA food and it tastes exactly the same. If you want to hop on a clean bus 3 blocks away and go anywhere, this is the ticket. Oh my girl Monisha and my Dr Ros the owner were on site and helped us out every day with travel plans and my requests were on point. He even put in handicap bar in shower the minute I mentioned it was a good idea for me. Blessed to have been at the Traum House. Thankful for the help and friendliness away from home. It was hot but not humid and the breeze was nice. It was bustling in and around town. This is the best pick for comfort and seeing the real Trinadad.
