How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe air conditioning was great! The room was clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for families of 3-4.
There was no toothbrush and toothpaste provided during my stay.

Verified reviewThe self-check-in process was smooth and easy. The host provided informative descriptions and pictures for all booking procedures. The price and the facilities were satisfactory and the room size was just right. There was a little balcony area for drying clothes.
You may hear noises from the walkways.

Verified reviewWhen you get checked in you are on your own which is good and it means you can come and go as you please w/o having to talk with anyone. The room had a clothes washer, but no dryer, which is great becasue you can dry the clothes in a few hours while your sleeping by hanging them up on the rack on the deck. Not all rooms have this, so ask if that is important.
Needed more hangers and there weren't any down stairs but make do!

Verified reviewThe location was good - just a few minutes walk from Taichung second market which was a great spot for breakfast. There was a night market also within walking distance.
It was expensive considering how basic it was. The shower was not isolated from the toilet and so the water soaked everything in the bathroom space - I was solo but if you were a couple this would not be ideal at all. The towels were of poor quality. The staff were weird about leaving luggage both before check-in and after check-out. You could only leave it for a maximum of a couple of hours pre and post check-in. I would not stay here again.

Verified reviewWe like this lodging; decent boutique place, good size and space, good location with many facilities within proximity, especially appreciate the big supermarket across the street and night markets nearby :)
We didn't like the morning sun shinning right through the bed though appreciate the corner room as certainly more roomy... It's a distance away from bus and train station...

Verified reviewThe room itself was okay had everything you needed. Our one problem was the cleanliness - there was a gab between the bed and the table that clearly had never really been cleaned. It had a lot of dirt, we only saw as something fell into it.

Verified reviewThe bathroom seemed newly renovated and was clean.
I left this hotel after staying there for only one night despite knowing that I won't get my money back. It was overall disappointing and not relaxing at all. There was a long line at 2pm because a lot of people wanted to check in at the same time. The room itself was smaller than it appeared in the picture. It was very cold in the room and the AC didn't help with the heating either. The bathroom was the only good part, as it was clean and provided hot water. However, it's a wetroom and no bathroom (or general) slippers were provided so you ended up making the room wet as well. My room was right next to a construction - meaning: lots of noise, a shitty view, and lots of fine dust in the air. So cleaning and drying my clothes on the tiny balcony was not an option anymore. The room seemed somewhat clean but some hair was on my towels (and they overall seemed pretty rundown). Also, I don't think someone ever cleaned under the bed - there were used earplugs, old slippers, and lots of dirt under the bed. One might think I could have asked for a change of rooms but I gave up all hope after the first night because it was so loud all morning! I could literally hear every single word from people talking, the noise of other rooms getting cleaned and whatnot. Overall, it was not a relaxing/vacation experience but ended up giving me more stress. Since I couldn't cancel anymore, I just left the hotel after one day and booked an Airbnb. That Airbnb was as expensive as this hotel but a thousand times more worth its price. So I would definitely recommend going for Airbnb in Taichung instead of wasting money on hotels that feel like 20€ hostels.

Verified reviewThe room is comfortable and clean. Value for money. It's located in the city center and about 20 mins walk from Taichung Train Station.
I was told to pay the rate by cash only in the receptionist as I provided the credit card info to Booking.com.
