An unforgettable stay. Three nights in XLQ were spent perfectly here. This B&B is comfortable, immaculate, light and airy. Located minutes from the main town on the island, Mare Cielo is an excellent choice for anyone seeing this beautiful place. Staff were incredibly obliging, within moments of mentioning at front desk we wanted to rent a moped the owner organised for us to be picked up and driven to an agreeably-priced shop where we obtained one with no problem. Breakfast was wonderful, cooked with fresh fruit on the side. Checking in/out was easy. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the town where we could dry swimwear and relax in the morning/evenings. The bathrooms were extremely clean with incredible smelling soaps and shampoo included. Towels were changed daily. All staff very friendly and helpful.

    No notes. It was perfect

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was A1, I think they set the menu because we mentioned we were vegetarian. Excellent location close to wharf where boat comes in, e-bike hire and beaches.

    No criticism, all good.

Our stay at Mare Cielo was beyond phenomenal. Seriously genuinely do not understand how this place is not booked out months in advance. For couples, families or friends looking to visit Xiao Liu Qiu, you really cannot find a better spot. I won't be able to hit on all of the merits of Mare Cielo, but let me touch on the following: 1) Customer Service, 2) Accommodation and 3) Amenities. 1) Customer Service - simply fantastic. The boss and staff are all incredibly warm, helpful and respectful. From the moment of our arrival, one of the staff sat down with us, provided a very detailed, custom map of the island and explained a few of her favorite spots - including dinner recommendations. The staff was always very willing to help answer any questions and at the end of our stay, they were very gracious in helping us deliver our luggage back to the ferry terminal. The staff were also incredibly hospitable during breakfast and prepared a very nice meal that I will describe later. 2) Accommodation - the boss is a local and spent 3.5 years building the BnB. It is exquisitely designed and genuinely feels like a Mediterranean villa. The common and dining areas are very warm and inviting and are honestly worth spending time in, something I can't say about most BnB or hotel lobbies. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable furniture and clean, brightly lit bathrooms. The design feels extremely cozy. 3) Amenities - the breakfast was pure joy - fresh fruit, thick smoked bacon, egg, vegetables and freshly squeezed watermelon juice. The staff was, just truly excellent and friendly in the way they prepared and served the meal. And the BnB also provides a tour, conducted by the boss himself (who is a longtime local) - the tour is very reasonably priced and enables you to see a lot of the local wildlife. Simply put, what an incredible place. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here!
