How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe host/manager was super responsive and helpful and let us check in early. You just have to text them on the app and they will swing by. The room was nice and has everything you need to stay the night with no bells or whistles, but that helps keep the price down. There is refreshments in the lobby and access to a bike in the garage as well which was a surprise.
More of a commentary on Taitung itself and not the hotel but Uber does not work here so if you want to go to the green island ferry make sure to load up some money on an easy card or bring cash for the bus ($25 NT) or you will have to call a taxi (kind of annoying). Or if you are a local you can rent a scooter.

The isolation in the rooms was not good so that you could hear your neighbouring rooms quite clearly.

Verified reviewRoom was a nice size and the place is quiet. It's very clean and they provide bikes if you want to but it's an easy walk to join the centre. The breakfast was quite nice, and the second morning they offered us a voucher for a place next door as the cook was off. It was simple but quite nice too. Parking is right nearby and easy to access.
We had to wait for a little bit before someone could greet us at arrival and we didn't really see anyone again after that.

Verified review- the room was clean and nicely furnished - kingsize bed was big and comfortable - for Sundays we got a breakfast voucher and there the breakfast was really good
We were quite disappointed to be honest: - check in: we had to wait more than 30 minutes for the check in - first for the host to arrive and then he couldn‘t figure out our reservation - he wanted to swing by the next day for questions and money pick up but was never to be seen - we booked the most expensive room but we felt like, it wasn’t prepared - the hand soap dispenser was empty and dirty - there were no pillows for the balcony furniture, we asked for some but did not receive - the room itself was not 72 m2, it was including the three balconies - NO ROOM SERVICE - sink was clogged but was fixed the next morning after us asking - we had to ask for the bikes although we used the option on booking, except from one bike all the other ones were not useable (flat tires) - payment was only in cash, which was not to be foreseen online

The receptionist on that day informed you that because your mobile phone was temporarily out of battery, we could only confirm the room type you booked by asking you. We are not very clear about what you said about asking questions the next day. The main reason is that we do not provide credit card service to allow you to check in on the same day, so we can only extend it to the next day to collect from you. Card service is not provided in Taitung area. There are so many accommodations, so please forgive me for this. The housekeeping staff has already replenished the hand sanitizer for you immediately after your response. We will strengthen the education of the housekeeping staff about this in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have fully solved the problem of bicycles, and we have placed a pump next to it, but thank you for your response.

Verified reviewClean and comfortable, very friendly and helpful host, and having access to bottled water was so useful . I was able to borrow a bike for a little exploring. Couldn’t stay long enough to try the breakfast but really liked the hotel.

Verified reviewWe were given a coupon for breakfast at a nearby restaurant and it was delicious. The parking was less than a minute walk away and spacious and safe. So glad there was an elevator and easy check-in process. There’s plenty of complimentary snacks, water, and ice cream. Very clean room as well.

Verified reviewThe freshly prepared breakfast was delicious and adequate for us. There were choices which we need to nominate in advance at check in. Coffee machine is available for use. Mr Wang who checked us in was efficient and helpful. He even organised a taxi to the railway station for early next mirning.

Verified reviewThe facilities were newly renovated. There were bikes provided (although they were in pretty bad shape).
The room smelled like sewage. There was no staff working at the property. Someone showed up a few min after we arrived and told us we had to pay cash and to slide it under the computer later that night. We never again saw anyone at the property during our stay. Very strange experience.
