AustriaIt smelled a little bit like smoke in the room. Also it was right next to the street on the first floor, so we could not open the curtains without people looking inside.
The staff was really nice and helped us with planning our day. It was a good location and you can rent the bikes there for free.

United StatesInitially we were given a room that reeked with the smell of smoke. They did kindly give us a room next door which initially seemed fine but bothered us later.
It was nice and clean. We liked the free bicycles which allowed us to explore Hualien. The staff was courteous and helpful.

The hotel is located at the back exit of the Hualien Station, only 3min walk away on a much quieter street. The hotel room is specious and new, with very comfortable bed, and most importantly it’s sparkling clean. The staff is friendly and extremely attentive, but may not have the extensive tourism information, however the official Tourism office is just 3min away at the Hualien Station! I stayed 2 nights there with my elderly parents and they’re very happy with their facility and environment too. I would highly recommended this hotel and will definitely stay there again if I visit Hualien.

SingaporeThe immediate surroundings is run down. To walk to Zhongshan Road, you have to walk through a quiet street (beside a car tunnel) and then an underground walkway, but thereafter there are many shops and eateries!
Once you know your way around, accommodation is very near the train station and bus station. Use the West exit ( looks older) and hotel is 80m to the right of the 7-11. Water dispenser available to fill our bottles. Bathroom was renovated and clean. Staff helped us call a tour operator as we did not have a Taiwan number.
