Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanI booked a single type of room for me, it would be better if there's a window in it.
I like most everything, it's really comfortable, I fully recommend this to especially solo travelers.

MalaysiaStaff treatment can vary. One staff was friendly while others can come across as rude by the way they reply but i didn't have to deal with them a lot so all was ok. I arrived early so they let me leave luggage while waiting for check-in. Noise level can be improved. Room soundproofing is not so good so you can definitely be woken up by noises from other rooms or if anyone leave/check-out super early. Very thin walls. And air conditioning is ageing so a lot of noise from it too. It'd have been a perfect stay if not for the noise to be honest. Hot water for the shower can take some time to heat up, usually 5-7 mins so you leave the water running and it'll be ok.
The place was in a convenient location which is near to almost everything (post office is just 5 mins walk away) and hotel is 7-10 mins walk from the main train station. Public buses easily get you to all parts of the city. The room probably has the best bed and pillows throughout my Taiwan trip so i slept comfortably (except for the occasional noise). Cleanliness was at acceptable level and they only clear the dustbins daily. The lift was convenient to go up and down if you're on higher floor and they have drinking water dispenser so that was convenient since you can topup your bottle.

JapanThe sound insulation is non-existent, which means you can hear other guests. As it's cheap it can attract people who aren't staying the whole night. The air-conditioning is super noisy, but worked. Only way I slept was with earplugs. There was a bit of smell of smoke around the place, when I mentioned smoke-smell when checking in (I'd seen reviews), the reception person shifted my room to an internal one which only faintly smelled. The door didn't have a deadbolt, and the latch was old and rattly. Although it's only key-card access to the building after the staff leave at 9pm, there is stairway and lift access to every floor. There didn't seem to be any reviews about issues, but I didn't feel very safe.
A cheap quick accommodation during a longer trip. Was a decent sized room with private bathroom, a fridge jug and bottled water. Although it's old it seemed clean. Location was close to the bus station, but a bit far from the trains. Staff were friendly and helpful when there.

TaiwanThe floors and walls were very dirty and stained, and there was a strong cigarette smell in the room and hallways. Also had to kill multiple small bugs crawling on the ground.

GermanyThe walls where super thin and the other guests did not take care to keep quiet at night. The first night I was woken up by the same guests twice (at 1 am and 5:30 am) who where talking very loudly on the floor for around 20 minutes. Also, the towels where ripped and stained and the shower floor was dirty. The bed and sheets at least were clean. Somebody had left an old empty bottle on the desk when I first came into the room. Like other guests mentioned, there was also a weird smell like old smoke that stayed persistently and even made my clothes smell like that when I returned from my trip.
I liked the location, it is pretty close to Taichung Station, but the area was pretty relaxed when I was there in October.

FranceUnfortunately it is not clean at all. It felt like my room hadn’t been cleaned before my arrival as there was dust in many places (which I usually don’t notice) and I even found a chicken bone at the foot of the bed.
The inn was conveniently located near the main station and was near many buses stops, allowing for an easier time to discover the city. The staff also was super nice!!

PolandLocated in the heart of Taichung, close to the central railway station, with shops, restaurants nearby. Nevertheless, the rooms are quiet in the night and no noises disturb you. The room is spacious, with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is clean and well-equipped. Good to have a small fridge and a kettle for hot water. The receptionist is exceptionally nice, givinh helpful tips. We were allowed to leave our luggage for an almost whole day after checkout.
