I liked the vintage style and the Asian antique style furniture and artwork. There was a jacuzzi in our room, which was a big bonus. The staff can speak multiple languages, which was helpful for us as English speakers. They also offered luggage storage on our last day. Good location, not far from the Main Station. Close to Dihua St and walking distance to the river and park. Walkable to night markets. Much better value than the first place we stayed for the same price.

Buildings: they have 2 different buildings. The One called Classic is a bit old, out of fashioned, looks scary.. when we booked the room with booking.com they aren't mentioned this.

The breakfast was not so good. There was no big variety for people who doesn't eat pork. Even noodles with shrimps was with pork addition. We stayed for a week and every day has the same breakfast menu without any change...

This is our first experience with a window-less room but it was great with everything including cleanness, bathroom (with a spa) and quietness. The automatic coffee machine downstairs is a bonus which produces a good coffee all day.

Facilities are a bit dated but location is good, convenient enough. Room is decent size. Staff are helpful. Included breakfast was very great with a lot choices.

The hotel is old… although everything worked well Needs better cleaning - seems the VC under the bed is done once per year Breakfast is very very poor, with the cafe starting working at 7am - not a good option for business traveler

Breakfast was good but a little more variety would have been good after stay ing there for one week although I actually enjoyed the kimchi I had each morning.

The front desk staff (and all staff) were all exceptionally helpful and friendly and all spoke good English (Ruby, Chen, Alicia, Londen) They helped with even the oddest of requests - nothing was too much for them. The room was very comfortable and tastefully furnished and everything worked. This hotel is excellent value for money!

It is slightly inconvenient that laundry cannot be done inside the hotel- rather, it has to be sent away with fees for different types of clothing if you use the laundry service. However, there is also a self service laundromat about a minute’s walk away that requires 50 NTD for washing, 10 NTD for every 5 minutes of drying, and 10 NTD for laundry detergent.

I liked that the front desk has water upon request, room service that comes to change the trash and towels everyday, and that it’s close to convenience stores such as 7-11 and Familymart. It is also fairly close to the North Gate of Taipei Main Station.

The claustrophobic feeling due to the ceiling height of about 210–215 cm. It felt rather stuffy in the room even with the A/C running. The Datong-branded TV's sound system was very shabby. The bed mattress carries the vibrations too well, so every time your partner moves at night, you'll feel it. The hotel is aging, but you still can't beat the price.

The price. I was traveling around the island, and you can't even find a decent B&B along the way for under three grand. The king size bed. The room facilities—it had pretty much everything I could think of. The breakfast that was much better than I expected. All in all, it was a fairly pleasant stay.

Restaurant options were limited, however it did not matter as there were plenty of food options and grocery within less than a minute walk.

We were a family of 5 so booked 2 rooms and requested the rooms were close to each other, Instead they put us in 2 seperate buildings. Bath towels were so old and worn they should have been thrown out years ago. Lighting in the room could definately be improved to provide a soft option. It was either be in a cave or Vegas. There is no staff manning the lobby of the 1st building so if you get stuck or need help, you need to walk to the 2nd building. The help button at the front is for show, no-one responds. Breakfast staff were lovely but front desk staff werr not that friendly. They were responsive though. Mini fridge in the room is set at 11°C so is pretty much useless.

Location was good, 10 mins walk to the station. Laundry, convenience and coffee shops nearby. Bed was huge although very firm. Breakfast was adequate but not exactly your usual offerings. We had a jaccuzzi in the room but it only really fits 1 person.

It is not as clean as I would like in the bathroom but not going to affect you. I even saw a piece of nail on the floor. Maybe it's hard to vacuum those kinds of things.

This is a classical hotel, not a new business type of hotel. But it certainly shows its age. The remodeling workmanship was not that good. Overall, it's roomy and comfortable. The staff are nice and helpful.
