The sheets and the bed was clean but on the floor were a few hairs from previous owners.

We were very warmly welcomed by uncle Xie. He is really a very friendly and good person and gave us a lot of advice for visiting Jiufen and the Gold Museum and also helped us with advice for travelling back by bus. The room was very big with a living room and a bathroom and a sleeping area. Also, the view from the balcony was great you can see the sea and ports. For us, the balcony was especially nice because we are smokers and this was the only balcony in Taiwan we had where we were allowed to smoke. Because of that, we had a very nice evening on the balcony. The water is always running warm in the shower.

The house was situated in the foothills of Jiufen old street, we were slightly surprised at the number of steps we had to climb to get there.

Only things to note is it is an older guesthouse and the beds are fairly firm.

Super friendly service from the host who went above and beyond and gave great instructions on arrival. Shoe dryer and umbrella as and bed warmers were greatly appreciated. Good attention to detail. Highly recommend.

It would be better if bed and pillow cover could be a new one because they are quite old. Direction to the house should be more clear, or there should be an obvious subject to be noticed.

Value for money. Location is near walking street and other tourist spots. Host perfectly speaks english and he can give a suggestion about jiufen well. The closest bus station is opposite the jiufen police station, then walk with a few step to the house.

the bathroom smells stinky probably due to the mold / dense humidity of the Jiufen weather. Besides that, the hot water supply for bath was very unstable. It turned colder or hotter very frequently making the shower very uncomfortable. Even though there is a heating element on the bed, there is no heater in the room itself so it got pretty cold at night.

1) the location - it is really near to the Jiufen old street (some stair cases to walk up from the BnB). 2) the owner (uncle Xie) is very friendly. 3) There is a heating element on the bed.

It's very unique experience - we liked it a lot because we wanted to touch authentic Taiwan - it's not a five star hotel. The host is very nice and helpful. We DO recommend this place to everybody!

Every friendly host! He gave a free upgrade too. Rustic vibes and excellent views (with good weather!) Very convenient location not only to jiufen, but also for anyone who is driving. Parking is right Infront of accomodation (liaise with the owner first), and the road to go up isn't the crowded one. Oh yes the sandwich is awesome!!!!

The place is damp. I don't know if it is because of the rain. Then again, it is always raining in Jiufen. Bathroom is not friendly.

The place is a short walk to Jiufen Old street. Owner is helpful.

Cleanliness totally not up to expectation. Whole house full of strong old house and furniture smell. You may smell it once entering the door. I even need wear mask to sleep due to sensitive to smell. My husband & my boy refuse to use the blankets cause there are stains and funny smell. Overall we all don't have good sound sleep. For those not emphasize on cleanliness and smell, Uncle Xie provide decent fare during peak season.

Uncle Xie is a very friendly and kind person. Location very convenient access to Jiu Feng Old Street. Owner very helpful and let us extended check out time and allow us to keep our luggage till nearly 6pm before he drive back to Taipei. Much appreciate this point.

Everything here was great! Great value, room is big with a comfy bed and excellent view. The owner spent many years in the USA and was very kind and dedicated to providing a good experience, including giving us a ride to the train station in his car, giving us Taiwanese snacks and beer, and suggesting places to go in the area. Highly recommended!
