Property is a bit run down and needs better maintenance but for a one night stay I honestly wouldn’t mind

A homey vibe and we felt really safe. Owner is responsive to messaging and accommodating. Location is great and has overlooking views!

The hostel is Less that 5 mins walk to the nearest bus stop which you can take from Taipei to Jiufen. Takes 2 flights of upslope stairs to reach the jiufen night market. Quiet place overlooking the mountain and the sea. Nice view! Friendly owner (name hui Ming) explained everything before check-in.

Room seem a little dated. A little pricy for the room (perhaps touristy place?).

Staff were good. Location was ok, with bus stop nearby. Two sets of steps takes you to Jiufen Old Street.

No heater, stairs going down, so when we bring heavy luggage is hard and the towel very small. They only accept cash, no card 😔 no spoon and fork.

The towels were a bit small, not perfect for showering. And we could hear people talking in the room next to ours. Not a big deal but it's something light sleepers and couples might need to be aware of. Warm water in the shower not very warm.

Very nice and polite host, showed us where everything was and because it's cash only payment he let us go to the ATM and give him the cash a bit later as it was raining outside. It's a perfect location, close to all attractions in the area even though you have to walk up and downstairs. Free coffee, unlimited hot water supply etc.

As mentioned in other comments, the bathtub is very old and has a hole in addition to the normal drainage. If the water just goes below the tub and not into pipes, this can't be good for the house. Other guests might be inconsiderate and leave their hair in the bathtub after taking a shower in the shared bathroom.

Very close to the Old street of Jiufen. Close to bus stops. The room was really large and had a nice seating area with a couch. Electric kettle, two bottles of water and two packs of instant coffee were included in the room. Check in was quite smooth.

The condition of the bathroom definitely requires care from the hosts. It's not necessarily about cleanliness but rather the condition of the appliances, especially the bathtub.

It was definitely possible to relax in the room. The fact that there was no window in the room (which we were warned about) didn't bother us so much. The room had a beautiful Japanese design.

No window inside my room so the air is not that good enough. The facilities is old and even the bathing tub is broken. Fortunately it's not sharp.

The price is cheap and the location is nearly main street. Only 2-5 minutes walk upstairs you will arrive the 7-11.
