Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for the oceanview private room -- it is so worth it! I've stayed in hundreds of hostels in my life and this is probably one of my favorites. It is so clean!!! Also great location. All around a great place to stay.

Overall, I really liked the place, but staff availability was sometimes lacking, and this meant that I had to wait around a while to check in. The cost also felt a bit high for what is still a hostel, especially compared to other places I stayed in Taiwan

I loved the location of Jiufen Mountain Stay, with stunning views of the temple and mountains from the common area! The pod offered exceptional privacy and gave me one of the best nights of sleep I had in Taiwan. Another highlight was the café and bar below. The bartender, who was incredibly friendly! He helped me when I arrived, recommended drinks in the evening, and even gave me a discount so I could try his favourites! I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Jiufen or Taiwan.

They charge you for a bath towel, the restaurant/bar on-site closing hours before the actual closing time.

Situated in an ideal location for exploring Jiufen old town. Next door to a temple, right across the street from the 965 bus stop that brings you in/out of Taipei . Steps away from the stairs that bring you to the old street. Spotless accommodation, comfy beds, clean toilets and showers.

I highly recommend this accommodation! The facilities were impeccably clean and the location was right next to all the lovely parts of Jiufen. If you are wondering if you should stay in Jiufen or just travel in for the day, DO IT and stay here! You can beat the crowds in the morning and evening and go elsewhere for the day quite easily. This was a great stay!

It was good experience staying at Jiufen Mountain Stay (九分山宿). We had a good rest and it was an astonishing sea view from the room. They also provided capsule room for those backpackers as well.

In general, it was very good. The capsule is spacious and cosy, the folding table is a nice add and there is a socket inside. There is no elevator but the staff will help you with the luggage if you need. The only thing I have to say is about the showers which are not on the same floor as the sleeping area.I would prefer to have one less toilet cabin and a shower instead on the sleeping floor. And there is no segregation between genders which would be fine if there was a space to get dressed, it's not great to do everything inside the small shower cabin. Thanks.

This is a perfect and affordable place in Jiufen. The hostel is super clean, the staff is friendly, and everything about my stay was exceptional. The beds are comfortable and very private, contributing to a great experience. I highly recommend this hostel as it is a great example of how enjoyable a hostel can be. 🙏

Nothing really. The capsule does have a little exhaust fan for ventilation, but if that could be bigger, it would be better for ventilation during sleep.

The property is very close to the bus stop as well as the the Old Street. The place is very clean and spacious.

I arrived sopping wet after cycling in. I was welcomed in and though I was worried about leaving a trail of wet footprints, they told me not to worry about it at all. The owners are super friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. There is a shoe dryer in the common room, the bathrooms were super clean, and the pod was really nice. They let me lock my bike in the front covered patio and they even rearranged some of the furniture to make space for me to park my bike there. Great location for exploring Jiufen, and cool cafe/bar downstairs with a discount for guests.

I think this was the best hostel I've stayed in. The staff were really nice and accommodating. I left my bags there around 10:30am. Came back around 3pm to rest a little bit. There's no elevator so if you have heavy luggage be aware. But i'm pretty the staff could help. They were so friendly. The second floor is kind of the lounge area where you can eat/drink also where the showers were. The floor with all the capsule beds was nice n cool. I had no issues sleeping, very comfortable. I also recommend this place cause it's in between the two bus stops, hauling your luggage won't be that hard. I saw other tourists who were staying in the old shopping street area but they had to go through all the crowds to get out pulling their luggage against the uneven street/floors. Overall I enjoyed my experience but also again the staff were very helpful and kind.

The view from the rooms is spectacular! All spaces are very clean and it was very quiet during my stay ! The old street is just a few minutes away on foot and it is very easy to find it if you are coming by bus as the bus stop is 2 min away ! I would definitely stay here again if I visit Jiufen in the future ☺️

The only small issue is with the door locks, some guests were having issues lock/unlock them and were a bit noisy but normally, once you know how to do, it is very easy.

You have to pay extra for a towel which I don't think is good practice at a hostel or hotel. The payment was taken a week before the stay (fully paid on my card), but the staff kept insisting I had to pay again upon arrival because they hadn't processed the payment. I protested and they said they did 'some other way' to release the money to them, so only paid once in the end. Was a bit weird.

The hostel is in a good location, pretty clean and comfy. We had a double room with a view which was lovely to wake up to!
