How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hallway inside the room was a bit narrow, you may need to take my luggage outside to organize it.
The receptionist was very thoughtful and friendly. When she saw me carrying a suitcase, she kindly helped me carry it up the stairs. She was also very helpful when I stored my luggage. The floor was very clean, and the bathroom and shower area were separated for wet and dry use. The location was easy to find—right next to McDonald's—and there were makeup mirrors available. The price was affordable, and I would definitely book this place again the next time I visit Taipei.

It’s in a basement so don’t except any natural lighting. The rooms were freezing, bed was a bit too hard for my liking. The bed curtains don’t close all the way
The location is great and easy to find. Extremely clean, facilities were new and kept well. Staff was super friendly

I liked this place very much.
The location was great, close to the Metro and buses. Food was available just out the door. Everything was extremely clean. I would highly recommend Just Live Hostel.

lights dimly switched on in bunk which shined (a little) through the gaps of the bed's curtain making it difficult to fall asleep.

No natural light.
Top bunks accessible by stairs rather than ladder; very good central location and friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Good lighting control in the rooms. Basement property but well ventilated.

It would have been nice if there's paper towel to dry hands in the toilet/shower room.
Stayed here for four nights. It's very well-maintained and staff were all really nice.

I loved everything about this hostel - the staff was excellent, cordial, greeting every time, very very pleased to have picked Just Live Hostel as my stay in Taipei!! My check-in was at 3 am - and they were very kind to come to the hostel and help me with everything! I especially loved the vanity space and security to ensure privacy of bathrooms and dorms! The bed - ohh the bed was so very comfy <3 Thankyou thank you very much! and I will visit again - XieXie!

I wish the bathrooms were bigger - there is basically no way to shower without getting your clothes wet. Also, in my experience, it was not a very social hostel.
The location was great, the pod setup of the beds was nice, and the provided locker area provided enough storage for a checked-size bag. The common room was pretty spacious as well.

Almost perfect. It is so comfortable and very clean. The staffs are all kind and helpful. They always make sure that the common area and toilet are clean. Ladies have privacy hence you’ll feel really safe.

Very nice facilities. The staff were also nice. But the best part was top tier location. I felt very safe, there was a locker and the bunk bed was nice.

The location is good. Nearby a lot of food stall, restaurant and McDonald. Opposite is a shopping mall called Xin Guang San Yue. Alight in Taipei Main Station and can go out from exit Z4 (Staircase), Z2 (Lift) or Exit M8 (Escalator). Overall the entire place is clean and comfortable. They have coin operated washing machines and dryer, if you do not want to bring too many clothes, can do laundry there. Wash NT20 per time, detergent NT10, Dryer NT10 10mins, NT20 for 30 mins. For female solo traveler will feel comfortable to stay here.

The hostel is located in the cellar, there are no windows to see what's going on on the street, it is confusing. The elevator is situated in the technical zone, so you can only use it for check out, but not for check in. Besides quite spacious beds, common area in the dorm room is quite tiny. There is no space to pack. I have a cabin size 20 inch suitcase. When I put it on the floor to pack it took the whole width of the room width
The location is great, 5 minutes from the main station. But it's a bit difficult to find, entrance is just a huge transparent door to the staircase. Probably one of the most clean hostels I've ever stayed at. Cleaner than some Japanese ones. The staff is very smiley and nice. The stairs to the top bunk were great. Separation of the female zone is a good idea. It has several women's dorms and a big shower/toilet room separated from the rest of the dorms by Japanese curtains. The organisation of the space for the locker and luggage is quite neat. There are two pillows and two types of lights in the cubicle. Whenever the staff has a spare minute they clean something or do the maintenance.

This hostel probably has the cleanest dorm rooms and toilets in all the backpackers' hostel. Hope it's not just because the place is still new and that they can keep it up!

It's in the basement with no elevator, so it might pose a challenge for those with heavy luggage. But it's manageable since it's just one level down.
The location is super convenient (located beside McDonalds), just walking distance from Exit 6&4 of Taipei Main Station. Accommodation is clean, front desk is friendly and vibe is peaceful and quiet. Definitely recommended.
