Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe hostel is not in central Taichung and there are no pavements/sidewalks in the area so walking around there is not very easy.
Trendy hostel with good views of Taichung. Reception staff are very helpful. Common area has a microwave and is well used by other guests so is good for meeting new people.

United KingdomNot the easiest to find as the signage on the column in front of the building has faded. Walked past it twice before a security guard pointed me in the right direction. Watered down hand soap. Stayed in the dorm and on two out of three nights someone was checking in between 1-3am. Lights on, lockers being open and closed, luggage dragged across the floor. Did not get good sleep at all.
Nice decor in common areas. Good selection of tea/coffee.

United StatesThe room was dimly lit at night.
I didn't have trouble finding the hotel. As you face the security booth downstairs, take the corridor on the left (which is the security guard's right). The guard saw me with a backpack and immediately directed me. Take the elevator at the end of the hallway, and go to the 10th floor. There was absolutely no gambling or any other activities or crowds on the weekend in February when I was there. I had the room right next to the reception, but it was pretty quiet, probably because it was away from the lounge at the other end of the hallway. I liked having a window that I could open.

TaiwanThe location downstairs looks very dangerous and dirty.
The staffs were extremely friendly and the place is like an oasis as you can get free sparkling water and there was a relaxing spot (like a lobby) to see the outside view of Taichung plus it's artsy deco is really cozy.

TaiwanNot much. I was just surprised about the area is full of little gangs. And other floors in the building seems to do some casino-like business. But it doesn’t affect the hotel. At least not the time l was in and out.
Comfortable bed and pillows. I love the shower and bathroom. And the coolest thing about it is the tiles are quick-dry. It’s so thoughtful that they have water fountain machine and free sodas.

Costa RicaMattress in the dorm is a little thin compared to other places. But not to the point of it being an issue. And considering the price this would be nitpicking more than anything
Hostel was clean & very well put together. Especially the common area which was great to hang out in & felt very relaxed. Free proper coffee, teas, & small complimentary crisps snack things were also a great bonus. Location is also good with street food places in the surrounding area. Short walk from the train station.

Hong KongWe did not want house keeping and didn't ask for that. So we didn't expect anyone would came in to our room. But the next day after being out, we found that someone had came in to empty the bin. (The staff at the reception clearly told us at check in that if we wanted house keeping we needed to tell them at the reception, otherwise they'd not clean the room during stay). The entrance was a bit dodgy and difficult to find. There were so many hawkers in front of the building which blocked the sight of the entrance / sign. There was only Chinese sign and no (or tiny) English sign of the Inn. (Chinese name and English name could be different). I booked the inn on English website with English confirmation. We didn't realise the Chinese name of the inn and didn't find it immediately. We walked back and forth with luggage and it was the security who noticed us and came up to ask if we're looking for this inn. Apart from the entrance, once getting in to the lift, everything else was clean and nice.
Spacious and clean room, with a proper window and a proper view. There's no TV but a projector with online entertainment which we really liked. We did movie nights and huge screen in front of our bed. (The only imperfect thing was that the wall paint was in deep blue / green colour which wasn't the best for the projected screen quality) There's a common area with fridge, microwave, drinking water machine and coffee machine providing free coffee.

TaiwanThe staff at the counter is super friendly and smiles at you when you walk by. The location is convenient and there is a street night market on the front street, so you have different choices for dinner or supper. The room I stayed was clean and the bathroom is inside the room. It was clean and quite quiet. The bed frame makes squeaky noises when you roll over 😂

TaiwanThe male midnight shift staff makes people very uncomfortable in many details. I went to the counter at 12,:00 exchanging coins for a coke, he tells me the coke machine is closed "after" I got the change and had already thrown in the jar ten dollars, without offering refund. I was sitting alone in the lobby in the middle of the night looking at the city view without turning on the lights, he came in to close the curtain in front of me twice without consulting my opinion, it's some kind of a sick vibe.

NetherlandsHad a great time here. The hotel is very easy to find, on the 10th floor, overlooking the city. It’s in a central neighbourhood, maximum of 15 minutes walk from everything. The park, central station, 2nd food markt, and in the evening there are plenty of food stalls on the street downstairs. It was also very safe to wander around at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there’s a common area where you can get thee/ coffee or just hang out with cosy music in the background. We had a room next to the communal area, and still slept great, never heard anything, and it is very well isolated.
