Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBeing picky - very small hand towels only. Shower head holder rubbish, have to hand hold. Otherwise all great.
Great location, so central. Staff great when available. Check in easy. A great hostel, kitchen is fabulously equipped, but take own food as only quick junk food at quick marts. Food outlets good tho. Showers great, fab pressure, but hand held. Very small hand towels only provided. Beds comfy. Good A/C.

TaiwanThere weren’t many power outlets in the room — just one on the wall and two on a power strip, and none of them could be used from the bed. Also, there was no vanity, which might be a bit inconvenient, especially for women.
This B&B is located in front of the entrance to Jiufen Old Street, right next to the 24-hour Family Mart convenience store, and just a one-minute walk from the bus station. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Overall, it’s very convenient for backpackers.

Malaysia-The homestay's name ("Old Street Seaview Homestay") is a bit misleading. While I initially assumed all rooms had a sea view, this is not the case. It's important to double-check the room details before booking. -On the way to the room, there is no elevator available, so you will need to use the staircase to go up or down. -Regarding payment, I initially believed the booking would deduct payment directly; however, it requires a bank transfer or cash payment. -Lastly, I booked the breakfast package expecting a breakfast prepared by the owner. However, I received an email upon arrival stating it’s actually a 50 NTD cash voucher per person redeemable at FamilyMart or 7-Eleven.
-The location is very convenient, as it is situated directly above/below a Family Mart. If you're looking for breakfast or a late-night snack, you can simply step outside to the Family Mart right beside you. -Next to the homestay, there is a gazebo where you can enjoy beautiful sunset views. -It's very quiet and peaceful here; there's no noise pollution -Overall, the cleanliness is good. -Wi-Fi is provided, but the connection is slow. -Have water dispenser at staircase

United StatesThe only real issue was that the stairs in the room were really dangerous. The railing at the top didn't extend ask the way to where the stairs themselves were, so there was a huge gap between the floor and the edge of the stairs itself. We just had to be extra careful, but I didn't like that.
The homestay was right at the 965 Jiufen Old Street bus stop, which was so convenient! The staff was very helpful, I had trouble with Line, and he was quick and responsive. The room was cute, and clean and was a great place to stay for our time in Jiufen.

The manager was very friendly and approachable. Even gave me free breakfast soncd I stayed there on my birthday. The house is just a few minutes walk to Keelung Mountain and across the street from Jiufen Market which makes it so accessible. Will definitely be back.

SingaporeBed was too hard. Breakfast never came even after we waited until 8.30 AM (but there is 7-11 within walking distance, too, so is fine). The screw to keep the hanger for the shower head seemed to have broke for a while, but not fixed.
Location, walking distance from the night market and near to a nice viewing spot. Have clean room, towels, etc.

AustraliaThe hilly walks. Be prepared for that.
Location was excellent. There was a Family Mart as you come in. That was a highlight with the kids. We could get anything we wanted at anytime. The view from the corridor outside the rooms was great. It was just up the street from the attractions - roughly 2 minute walk. The bus drop off was about 5 minute walk away. In terms of location, it was great.

TaiwanThe building is a little bit old and the drain water from the air conditioner is in the bathroom, which is a bit disturbing. Nonetheless, the room is clean enough for a comfortable overnight stay.
The view from the room is fantastic! And the seats near the window are super cosy. The location is very convenient and is just few meters away from the bus station.

AustriaIf I could make a small suggestion, I would recommend a small reading light next to the bed, to save electricity and have more privacy in the evening. Also, being sent a photo of the entrance door on the day of check-in might help other non-Taiwanese speaking visitors, as I arrived at night and Google Maps sent me to the back entrance down the hill (with my luggage) and there is no English sign and I don't have a SIM card to call for help. Finally, I slept longer and picked up the breakfast (ham toast?) from the drawer in the common area 2hrs later. By that time, a lot of small ants were crawling all over it...
I had a great stay in my room, it was lovely to sit at the window and enjoy the great view while having a snack! The location is very central, next to a Family Mart and only a short walk from Old Street and the bus stops in both directions. The bed was very comfy and I liked that there was a small fridge.
