One of the best hostel experiences staying in a genuine Jiufen house up in steep mountain maze, meeting the awesome boss and "staff" D &G ! It was really special to sit around the living room chatting about food, travel, languages etc and then going out together to the Old Street to try stinky tofu, peanut ice cream roll and fishball soup, watching the sunset and lanterns light up! There is only 1 bathroom (including shower) for 10 people. The rooms are a bit dark if you need natural lighting. The beds don't have proper curtains so not the most private - I prefer this over a capsule personally. The slippers don't seem to be disinfected/are just shared so maybe bring your own if this matters to you (you can't wear your outside shoes inside)

Room was spacious even with 10 beds. Would have enough space for suitcases. Was only 1 other person when I stayed so it felt uncrowded. Room is dark but has two small windows and so does the bathroom. The vibe is super friendly and the staff were very nice. Would be a fun place to hang out and make friends if I stayed longer. Location is amazing. Care taken to provide clean bedsheets.

The bed made some noise when moving on the bed. It’s hard to find a free parking lot. Need to pay for the parking overnight.

Really enjoyed my stay! The owner was lovely and the rest of the staff were fun to chat with. The location is great for hikers as you can easily get to the nearby towns via bus for the longer mountain walks. Very close to jiufen town as well. The town is very quiet at night, but there is an easy bus to Ruifang where you can get a cheap dinner. Facilities were clean and bathrooms were nice and spacious. I had also booked an additional night accidentally, but the owner was happy to remove it from the fee. Would recommend!

Really nice small hostel with just to rooms - mixed and female. Only one bathroom in the room, sometimes long waiting time. Right in the center, perfect location. Cool common area downstairs with kitchen and living room. Good wifi, comfortable beds and clean bathroom.

The host was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is in the central, thus it was easy to move around, reach the touristic places, but it remained quiet during the night, so it was great for a good night sleep.

No towels provided but this isn’t unusual.

Close to the bus stop and in the heart of Jiufen this hostel was comfortable and relaxing. Free coffee and tea was available and Alan was friendly and chatted with everyone. The bed was comfortable and warm though the curtains don’t give total privacy. Eye mask and ear plugs are always handy when staying in dorms. Female dorm had its own bathroom.

There’s only 1 air conditioning remote for 2 rooms. That day the guy in the other room took it and didn’t return to its designated space, so it was late so I couldn’t turn on the air conditioning in the female room. It was quite chilly at night so a fan is more or less enough.

The staff was very friendly. He gave me a custom map with recommendations for locations that aren’t popular on Google Maps yet. I got one of my best photos in Jiufen because of it. The location of this hostel is also very convenient because it’s near the bus station while still resides in the Old street area. Just need to dump your luggage at the hostel and start exploring the streets

The mattresses are not very comfortable, but it's not a big deal.

The stay was comfortable, location is right at the start of Jiufen, very close to the bus stop. I used this stay to go to Keelung as well. I can't recommend enough!

There is one major easy fix that the hostel should really implement and it is putting curtains on the ends of the beds and not only on the sides. It would make my rating go from 8 to 10 because it would feel way more private and comfortable. I stayed at a hostel of the same brand in Taitung and they had more private curtains.

Well located close to where the buses and taxis arrive but also close to the main street. Good value for money specially for Jiufen. They also allowed me to pay with credit card which I find very convenient though there was a 2% surcharge.

There is only one bathroom and toilets in the same room for the whole female dormitory. It didn’t bother me at all because I was alone but if the hostel is crowded it can be a problem. Fortunately there are some extra toilets in the first floor Also the curtains are not very efficient because they cover only one side of the bed. Again I was alone so for me it wasn’t a problem but if the hostel was crowded I could have felt it weird. Personal lockers are small but I don’t think it’s the kind of hostel where people stay a long time with a lot of luggages, so it’s mostly for information

This hostel is extremely well situated, in the heart of the old street, it’s very convenient and we can easily feel the experience of Jiufen by night and in the morning before the crowd. The female dormitory is big, there is a lot of space. beds are very comfortable and the hostel looks like a small house. Free tea and coffee, water machine. The person who welcomed me was nice and he speaks english. The price is convenient for students I thought in such a touristy place it would be much higher !

The road outside the hostel was a bit slippery, and there was only one women’s restroom. Had to wait for a turn.

The location was perfect. Right in the heart of downtown and on the main street. Couldn’t beat that! The staff was really nice as well.

The bed, wooden frame looks nice and all, but it cracks with every twist and turn, espeically for upper bunk. Upper bunks have no curtain, so whoever turns on the light/open the door will (probably) wake up someone on the upper bunks. There is only one shower for (potentially) 18 or more people, and the shower is conneted with the upstairs washroom. I flat out did not shower on my last night of stay.

The location is great, literally a stone throw away from the old street. Considered that I stayed during the weekend, during new year holiday no less, the value for money is absurd.
