How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Expensive, you pay the price for the location only not the hotel services or facilities. The room has centralising air conditioning, too warm during summer. The elevator has no air condition, you will sweat by just taking the elevator and too long of waiting for the elevator services.

Verified reviewI had booked 2 rooms. One room with 2 double beds was very comfortable. The room with 2 single bec was bad. My rating here is for 2 single beds. My friends who occupied the room requested change fotr 2x. The first one too small. 2nd aircon not working.

Verified reviewThe location is superb as it was just opposite to Ximending Night Street and just beside the Ximen MRT station exit 5. There are convenient stores such as 7-Eleven and Family Mart right beside the hotel as well. The room is perfect, but it would be better if the room can be slightly more bigger, but still in overall, the experiences are superb and we enjoyed our stay !
The lift(s) were considerably slow, it was slightly frustrating during peak hour.

Verified reviewManuel at the front desk provided an exceptional experience. He went out of his way to help us. He helped us with the Taipei 101 A Joy reservation when we were having trouble with our reservation. He also provided very good recommendations for food and restaurants. I stayed an extra night because of his service. I wished there was a way to thank him.
We saw cockroaches in our room on the last night. I wish the cleaning service would do a better job.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, very central, and the staff are friendly and helpful in general. The room itself was a good size, and there is a very spacious central atrium where the breakfast is provided. A good sized desk/table is in the room, and very big comfy bed. The room was relatively quiet, apart from a bit of minor corridor noise.
While nothing was seriously wrong with the hotel, the price was quite high so I expected better - especially given the far higher standard offered by other hotels nearby at a similar cost per night. Overall, the room was a bit dirty - this wasn't obvious as it was rather dark with little natural light with dark grey furnishings and very focussed spotlighting (not very much like the photos), but one could still see there was quite a lot of debris around the corners of the room and under the bed/sofa. It's not disgusting or unhygienic - but I would have expected better (especially given this comment keeps coming up in other reviews, yet seems not to have been acted on). I also found some clothes from a previous guest in the cupboard, which was a bit strange and suggested that a thorough check of rooms is not done after check-out. Also, the WiFi connection was provided with a lot of conflicting instructions. For any future guests reading this - the connection details given at check-in are the correct ones; all the alternative information about how to connect to the WiFi displayed in the room and in the guest book appear to be irrelevant (maybe outdated from old systems) and won't work. Communal areas and corridors were also a bit unclean with stains on the carpet. A/C seemed to be stuck on 19C, so can be cold. Breakfast was fine, fairly average, but could get very busy and hard to get food without a big queue unless you go really early. The location (in the atrium) for the breakfast is quite impressive - unfortunately a little bit dusty and dirty and worn out in places with taped up flooring, but still looks good overall. The elevator is extremely slow, and easily gets overloaded and full. Allow 5-10 mins to get down, sometimes more at busy times and from lower flows. It is worth building this into the check-out plan to ensure the process is completed in a timely manner.

Noise cancellation is poor. Can hear children running about of the upper floor and adults chatting outside the room. Lift services need to improve as well, crowds gathering very impatiently just before the 11am checkout time.
