The area of the capsule is very good. You can see the beach view on there patio (public area on the second floor). They have free coffee and tea if you want to drink it outside of there veranda while watching the beach or sunset. The facilities is clean also the bathrooms not like other than capsule hotel that I stayed in. The staff is very nice and accommodating. For the cheap price, the view, very clean and accommodating staff very worth it to stay.

Clean and cozy. Space is mostly well thought out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Capsules have doors that lock. Free snacks and drinks are a nice touch.

None of these things are dealbreakers, but just thought I'd mention them. There's really not much space for your luggage inside the capsule, nor in the room outside either. AC was a bit complicated for the capsules as they are funnelled from the outside room AC, still worked tho. The fan inside the capsule was a little pointless, as it needed to be in a certain place, but that placement didn't have a plug socket for it, there's a plug, but something is already plugged in. TV is a little pointless inside the capsule, as the placement is on a side wall, would be better/ easier to use if it were on the ceiling or above the ac inlet by the door. But I assume the sound would be a little annoying for others. I know it's a dorm, but the opening and closing of the doors can get loud and annoying. Overall the soundproofing is quite good, but impossible to not hear others. Common area being on the third floor has a nice balcony, but it can be a little divisive, especially with only two seats in a cinema area. If you like cats you'll like this.

Very pleasant stay. The staff is very cool and accommodating. The capsules and bathrooms are clean. The capsules are very comfortable and soundproof too. The common space makes you want to spend time there. I will recommend it and consider it next time. Just a minor issue, make sure you can pay with cash but as mentioned before. The manager is very accommodating and understanding. Very comfortable place, and great location. Just have to cross the street to be at the beach.

Best place in Kenting to meet local and international travelers! Over three nights here, I had a meal or drink with people from Holland and Hong Kong, Donggang and Taipei. Such welcoming staff, greeting everyone, answering my transportation questions. The manager planned a birthday sunrise outing to a beautiful sea cliff nearby! The common spaces have everything for a calm fun stay. This established old hostel has a renovated feel. You can find a cozy seat, hot coffee, or desk to work. My room had an ocean view, and my neighbor below had a balcony. The capsules are private and nice. You can reach The First from Hengchun or Zuoying via Kenting tourist shuttle bus 9189. And I departed on bus 9117B to Donggang. Both routes accept Easy Card. Nanwan is an ideal base for scuba diving with Houbihu DivePro 南青潛水. The dive guide picked me up at The First for NT$200. I enjoyed day trips to Sail Rock at sunset, Longpan Park for sunrise, Hengchun for the city wall and restaurants, and Eluanbi for its lighthouse, sea views, and amazing paths. The ATM at Seven Eleven accepted my international debit card. The weather in March is perfect for me.

I was sad to leave because I felt great staying at The First. Also, I wanted to see more of Kenting national recreation area. Also, I missed the acquarium a little ways north of Hengchun that a retired German couple recommended. Remember to turn your fan and the AC on if it’s a warm day.

This was a last minute find and the location is very convenient, right next to the 7-11, across the street from the beach, and surrounded by all the restaurants in the South Bay. This place is very cozy, the room I stayed in faced the beach and had a small balcony, which is really rare for a capsule hotel! They have a very inviting common space with a lounge offering cold drinks, hot coffee and tea, as well as snacks and even handmade cookies, they have tables and sofas for group, also office-like single seats which was perfect to work on my laptop. Two communal balconies offer ample seating to enjoy the sun and views, as well as a small theater area for two. The host lady was very friendly and knowledgeable about all my travel related questions. Overall five stars and will definitely go back! 👍
