the shower wasn't working properly, was tricky to take a shower, the water doesn't really come out well.

location, literally right next to Longshan temple, it's just amazing. Train station close by. the view from the hotel room. reasonable price. very unique hotel, super cute tiny elevator.

The rooms are quite small and we found very very small black bugs in one of the rooms.

Well located, though nearby streets can be a bit sketchy.

I had a great experience at Monka Hotel. Great location right next to the Longshan Temple and the MRT station with lots of great places to eat in the area. The staff was very friendly and responsive, the room was very clean and although a little bit small it was very comfortable and had all the amenities needed. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Taipei.

Room (and hotel overall) were a bit smaller than expected, and the bathroom was very cramped, but for two people it was fine.

Location was good. Was close to MRT station. Didn't explore the nearby area too much, but the temple seemed neat.

Excellent location next to main temple. Shared ownership with Longshan inn next door. We stayed one night here and the others in the Longshan inn. This was made very easy by staff.

The communication, i had to write them on facebook ( as in find their page online and write) so that they give me information about self check in as i was arriving late and the reception was not open after 10 pm. In the end worked out without any problems.

The location, it’s small but compact room with everything you need. The view out of the window, when you take your morning coffee in bed is unique.

The female receptionist was not friendly. The guy that changed her towards the evening was great! Very nice and helpful

Ideas for improvement -staff at reception doesn't speak English and is not very attentive/interactive when guests are entering/leaving the lobby. Training necessary! -room is so small that there is almost no space for unfolding a single small suitcase. Some rack or similar design hack would be helpful.

Very small. The girl receptionist was rude and really should not be working in customer service. We arrived and she was yelling at an old lady (not hotel guest) in front of the hotel about something. Then there was no greeting no friendliness. The room was clean but very very small - the sink was right by the front door and then the bed! Smallest room I’ve ever stayed in, for aud $400 a night! Not worth it in my view.

Clean and the guy at the reception was very helpful and polite.

I had some trouble running the AC but this is probably because I couldn’t read the instructions in Mandarin.

The rooms were clean and tidy and had lots of toiletries. Location was good and close to the metro.

We arrived after check-in time and were provided very clear instructions to still get into our hotel room. In addition to its beautiful interior, the hotel has very clean rooms and friendly staff. The accommodation is very well located.

The refrigerator is not working at all, even when I told the staff, she doesn't seem like want to resolve it for me, but kept telling me is working well previously.

The room was compact so if you have a big luggage, there's hardly space to walk around. I wish there were more restaurant choices in the area but since it's near the MRT station, it was very easy to get around Taipei and eat elsewhere.

The room was tiny and compact but very well designed in a modern style. I liked that it was very clean and new-looking. The bed and linens were comfortable and the aircon was quiet. The staff that we encountered was friendly and helped us with our questions. The location was excellent being behind the beautiful Longshan Temple, near the MRT station and a night market (although not the best one but at least with fruit vendors that sell sugar apple and guava). Despite the number of tourists going to the temple, the room was quiet.

The room we had booked was tiny and still not the smallest of the rooms the hotel offers. There is no place to put suitcases/backpacks. The wardrobe is made up of 4 hangers. Worst of all, there was mould in the room, both visually and by smell. And not just a little bit, but normally large mould stains on the walls.

The location is very good. We could see the temple from our window. Close to one of the night markets. You have to walk a bit to the centre.

The room is very small. If you have luggage (like we did) you will need to step over it to get around. There’s just enough floor space to open it. The elevator is also extremely small. Again, if you have luggage, you will need to make multiple trips to get your luggage up to the room. I believe it is meant to carry one person at a time - if you’re claustrophobic you will struggle. The size of the room is specified in the description, but the pictures do not quite capture how small it is. WiFi also does not reach the room. We sat next to the door to get a more consistent signal. Overall, we were disappointed and did not think it was worth the price.

Nice location near to Longshan Temple and MRT. Bathroom is quite nice, and shower water pressure is great.

It was my 2nd stay at Monka Hotel. I love it for the design, cleanliness, comfortable bed, location in a nice area, very close to metro station, it’s very convenient. Extra points for great bed and beautifully smelling toiletries.
