The young male receptionist had an attitude. Overall, not a great checking-in experience. The people who worked at the restaurant were very kind, though! I also wished the website were more accurate about which room I was getting. I felt cheated by the false advertising. The view I got from my room was not great.

The interior decor was amazing. The coffee beans, tea, snacks, drinks in the fridge, and relevant utensils were a very thoughtful touch. Our AC had trouble starting, and the property manager came to hel,p though it was late - truly appreciated the great customer service.

receptions were quite shy, they might not speak english well or afraid i'm not sure but as hotel hospitality, they could be abit more enthusiastic and more abit more welcoming/brave, after all they are the face of the hotel

the room, the view!! the location is just amazing, the stairs to Jiufen old street is just on the opposite side of the hotel. The view is just beautiful. the calmness of the place once you get it and being in the room! well rested! comfy bed, great amenities!

There were some loud sounds which I believe came from the piping. It did not last very long and did not affect our stay overall, but can be a bit of a shock when you suddenly hear it.

View from the room was spectacular, exactly like what was shown in the photos. The room was done up very nicely with good speakers and large comfortable bed. They also gave complimentary snacks and drinks in the room which was a nice touch!

It would have been nice to have a glass partition for the toilet for better privacy instead of the curtain. The bathtub in the middle of the room is aesthetic but not practical, again no privacy. Overall though it's very nice. I will stay again.

The breakfast was OK and little limited but since we were up early due to jetlag it's the best option to get quick food before heading out for our sightseeing. The location is great since taxi was able to drop us off in front of the property. This isn't the case for some inns. I saw folks having to carry their luggage up steep uneven stairs in the pouring rain since the location is unreachable via car. The room is exactly as pictured. It will be nice to have coffee stirs or spoon in the room for coffee. We got 2 rooms since we were party of 3. They were super nice to accommodate us by putting us in the same building close to each other. The rooms with views are across the street from check in lobby. If it wasn't pouring rain for both days I would love to stay additional night and explore Jiufen but the weather made that option not worth it.

The owner may consider a slope pathway next to the stairs, owing to heavy luggage. Unless a lift was installed haha

We also had two other rooms, the double with private bathroom. One didn’t have a view: the other one had partial view. The other rooms were fine but one was strangely designed with the shower flowing into the toilet area. The other one was modern but felt cold in the design. They were much lower rates but wished we had booked all in the same building with the sea view

The double deluxe room with balcony and sea view was the most beautiful room with a fantastic view. It was modern, clean and beautifully designed. The best hotel room of the trip. This place is only worth it if you book this room type

No lift, but seems no hotel in Jiu Fen have lift (according to the hotel staff), so please travel light. And sometimes they will assign your room in the separate location, so you need to climb up the stairs of the old streets for 3-4 minutes. When we check in, initially we were assigned to this room in the separate location, but since I have big suitcase, our room have been upgraded to the same building with the lobby building.

Location is very good, on the main road, bus stop is in front of this hotel, and entrance to the Jiufen Old Street. However the hotel is located in the bottom of the old street. so you need to climb up to the center of the old street.

If there were receptionists at the counter who all spoke English that would be good. I found that Chinese people received better service.

I don’t recall seeing a disclosure about the property set up at the time of booking. We booked the accommodation seeing that the address was right next to the main road, knowing that most accommodations in Jiufen require climbing up staircases. Upon checking, we were informed the property is made of 3 different locations within Jiufen itself. We ended up having to carry our luggages up the many steps of Jiufen with a baby. Although help was offered to carry our luggages up the steps, we felt more disclosure was needed on the property to help guests to decide if it’s for them or not. Rubbish at common area were not cleared on time. For example we saw the same uncleared pile the next day.

The property is situated below A Mei Tea House along the Old Street.

Very expensive for what you get - especially compared to other hotels we have stayed in all over Taiwan Hot food at breakfast doesn’t get replenished from 9.30am onwards (possibly earlier) even thought breakfast goes on until 10.30am so food just sits there getting cold and if it runs out then tough luck. For the price of the hotel I would definitely expect better choices and fresher options - it’s such a small hotel they would be much better off cooking hot food to order and just having a cold buffet The door to the toilet is completely transparent - almost pointless and offers no privacy, the only design flaw in an otherwise beautiful room

The rooms are beautifully designed and furnished - stylish, comfortable and very well thought out Lovely little extras with tea and coffee to keep, pineapple cake and great quality slippers We originally had a room in the back building on floor 2 and it was a lovely room but much to open to the road so would not be able to enjoy the bath and would be very loud with traffic. We upgraded to the front building - very quiet, lovely view and much more private Amazing shower and bath with a view was just lovely The young lady who checked us in was so friendly and helpful, spoke great English and made us feel very welcome Good location as near the bus stop and at the bottom of the steps to the old street Breakfast was pretty average - good salad, nice range of drinks, yoghurt, fruit and cereal options ok

Room booked had pictures of uninterrupted view but room assigned had half of the view with powerlines and people walking to the carpark could see into the room. We had to keep half the blinds closed while using the shower facilities. When the neighbouring room were plugging in appliances you could hear the sound through wall

only stay for a night so did not have a huge luggage but if you do, one thing to take note is that there is no elevator. also the outside area behind the hotel could be improved further to elevate the overall view.
