Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanThe Noise (Techno Music and Deep Bass) from the Building (might be a KTV or Pub, maybe other floor) could be heard whole night, so I used my Noise-cancelling headphones for sleep. (But my Sleep quality after I fell asleep still showed a high score, so I think, the bed helps also.)
I wouldn't complain the Hostel according to the Price with the Location, clear and clean Space and those helpful, nice and lovely Staffs, they also recommended a nice Vietnam Dinner that I really enjoyed.

I like the proximity of the property to the train station. Bathroom is also very clean all the time. Staff were also very accommodating. Free tea and instant coffee. Room is spacious enough for a person with a luggage.

United KingdomAccess to the hotel was not easy to find. The lifts in the building to the 10th floor where the hotel was located could have been cleaner. However, this was not the hotel's fault as they were shared by all residents/companies in that building.
1. Cleanliness of everything once I stepped past the hotel's entrance door. 2. Female and male clusters of rooms were clearly separated.

CanadaCleanliness: The room is clean-ish. There's small bits of stuff in the cracks of the hardwood floor and in corners. Mattresses are free from bedbugs and no stains to indicate otherwise. It's not awful, but don't expect pristine. Washrooms are kept quite tidy though. ---------- Location: The location is a mixed review. It's nice because it's a 5 minute walk from Taichung station. However, the area north of TaiChung station is a bit grungy - quite a few homeless people and streets were a bit dirty. I went to TaiChung Park and ran into a few prostitutes and pimps, so try to avoid that area. ---------- Environment: The ambience is a bit okay. During the day has no AC in the lounge area. In the hallways, AC never runs, which is weird to a Westerner. So during September's 33C weather it meant no staying at the hostel during midday. This was a bit inconvenient sometimes, since a lot of places in TaiChung don't have AC.
Facilities: room lockers come with a key and lock. The lockers fit a standard Air Canada carry-on suitcase plus large Herschel backpack. Powder detergent and buckets are in the washroom, so wash your clothes by hand in the shower. ---------- Staff: 24/7 staff are awesome. They were very helpful with places to visit and drying my clothes and shoes during the typhoon. Thanks MingRu! ---------- Location: South of Taichung main station is nice. Go to Taroko Mall Sushiro. The best place though is the Teikoku Sugar Factory and Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport. This mall has full AC, a huge food court with public seating, and so many shops and nice, clean toilets. I sat here for a full day and journalled because it was so hot. I sat there with a bubble tea and overlooked the city of Taichung via the top floor food court. The hostel is located in a mall with a lot of Vietnamese/Thai food stalls and tourists. It's cool because it feels like Vietnam/Thailand. ---------- Social: I had a great time meeting people. It's mainly working Taiwanese folk and since my Mandarin (self-taught 2nd language) is okay, so I could chat with others. However, if you can't speak Mandarin then it could be tough talking to people. Also, since it's mainly working folk and the lounge area has no AC, don't expect it to be a social party.

United StatesAt night, you can hear comparatively loud noise/heavy beats from other floor(a night club/karaoke or sth.) Definitely not recommend for the visitors who are sensitive to noises.
In the experience of all the hostels I have stayed in, the cleanliness here deserves relevantly high scores. (not only for the sleep area, but toilet&bath area) Plus, location is good for taking buses where a bus stop is right in front of the building

United KingdomOn Saturday night, can hear a little bit of noise from the discos and KTVs in the building, which could be a problem if you're very sensitive to noise while sleeping but they provide free earplugs. No breakfast offered anymore.
Hostel, dorm room and beds were all very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and accommodating and spoke some English. 24hr reception. Luggage storage before check in and after check out. Free water, tea and coffee. Large enough communal area to sit, chat, play games or eat. Had facilities for heating up food and fridge to keep food. Very nice bathrooms with lots of showers. Towel and toiletries provided. Gender separated for rooms and bathrooms. Located 5 min walk from train station in ASEAN Square mall so feels like being in SE Asia!

TaiwanNot a lot of character, on the 10th floor of the Asean Square mall. The building entrance and elevator are bit run down, but the hostel itself was clean and comfortable. There was no breakfast, maybe this is only included when the hostel is busy enough? It was quite quiet when I was there.
Good location, very close to Taichung station. Towel, and even toothbrush and a bottle of water was included, and the showers are great. I was also able to borrow a plug adapter from reception.

AustraliaI didn’t think it’s value for money, quite expensive for a dorm.
Good location, situated near the train station. Provide free breakfast and even ear plugs in a dorm is such a wonderful thought. And the curtain on the bed provides much needed privacy.
