This is probably my favourite low price accommodation that’s on the coast. The staff are super friendly and they make an effort to make the place unique. The food is very good and the drinks are decent. It’s a very affordable and cool place to stay. I’d definitely go back.

The staff were amazing, the food was great, it was super affordable and in close proximity to the beach.

It was hot as hell and the bed was a bit hard - definitely recommend getting one of the rooms with an AC.

Everything! The bungalows and the area is so peaceful. Really nice staff. Best food on Zanzibar. Housekeeper did a really good job, room was always clean and every day free from mosquitos.

Electricity is gone often and for long, but I was prepared with powerbanks, so not a big problem and not their fault.

The power was low so the fans barely worked and the ACs were not working. We had no water one day as the water pump was also affected by the power. It was very hot inside the downstairs rooms. This was no fault of the hotel but issues with power in all of Zanzibarr.

Beautiful tropical ambience and garden. Chilling on the balcony was such a blast! Actually two balconies. Nicely designed rooms. I totally loved the room of stay. Number 11, super cool! Everything clean. Hot shower. Internet was fine too. Good breakfast. Very pleasant and kind staff. Bicycles free to use. Beach is very near. It was a pleasure to stay in this place. Recommended.

I was working remotely and stayed at Sagando for a few days to relax while working on my laptop. It exceeded all our expectations! The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, creating a friendly and peaceful atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious—every meal felt like a treat. Sagando offered the perfect blend of tranquility and functionality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy and inspiring getaway! Thank you Mohammed, Calista, Catherine, Mussa, to the chef and all the people that welcomed us!

We liked everything

The biggest advantage of this place is their extremely friendly and sweet staff, that saved our stay multiple times when things were not going perfect. The place itself has a very cool vibe, their food is tasty and it's just a short walk from the beach. There was a confusion on our arrival cause we booked a 2 beds room and got a 1-bed, but luckily the staff resolved this in just a couple minutes. Then at night, as soon as I entered my bed, it collapsed and I hit my head (luckily without serious injuries) - which was definitely not ideal, but within a couple minutes I got my own bungalow for the night, while my friend stayed in ours (her bed was fine). So in the end it all turned out ok.

The only night we stayed there, there was an extremely drunk lady at the bonfire with a few dogs that was shouting at everyone. The staff kept apologizing for her to us, but not removing her, so my only guess is that she's probably the owner of the place (or someone else "important"). That's a real shame, because the way she treated us was totally unacceptable. Her dogs kept coming to us while we were eating dinner and I was petting them and playing a bit (since I love dogs and I was missing mine who stayed at home), but the lady had a completely different perception of what is happening and she started shouting at me that how do I dare to offend her dogs and who the f*** do I think I am, coming to her country and not liking her dogs .... She used some racist words against me and at some point I seriously got worried she would come and hit me. It was obvious she is way too drunk to understand anything that is going on, but I found this extremely rude towards me being the guest and I feel extremely sorry for the staff that they possibly have to deal with this more often.

Magical place that became my second home after spending three weeks there. Very good vibe every evening around the bonfire with music and dancing. Staff that became like my family and took care of everything I needed. Thank you for eveything, Im sure Ill be back plenty of times...

Amazing lodge with beautiful garden and nicely designed rooms (the bathroom outside was an additional attraction). Staff is very kind and friendly - greetings to Veronica, Idris and Kalista for making our stay even greater. Sagando is also very close to the beach - just a few minutes walk. I recommend it to everyone.

Nothing to complain. Everything was just excellent.

Close to the beach, yet private enough to have its own ecosystem. There is a campsite, which comes alive at night. If there are enough people, they have their own drums, so you can drum along or just chill drinking whatever you like. Extremely joyful staff also!

Due to power cuts, our A/C was beeping occasionally and musquitoes can be quite frequent on this location. Service could be less polepole. :)

Nice room with a gorgeous open bathroom. Friendly staff

Broken screen door to the bathroom, unstable power supply (power cut & light wasn’t stable), warm shower with very little volume, it took so long to rinse. The worse was my bungalow next to a pub, their loud music didn’t stop till midnight. I went to tell the hotel. Nothing they can do. I got a tour next day and had to get up at 4:30am so literally no sleep.

Super friendly staff, amazing food -breakfast included but the dinner menu was also delicious. Nice short walk to the beach, many places to relax around the property both private and communal. Very peaceful with the birds and forest around. Bonfires at night.

The room was slightly hot and the fan could have been a bit better, there are more noises at night with local music around but not a bad sound to hear. More bugs around as the property is away from the wind, but to bugs are to be expected and they remind you of the surrounding presence of nature. The only issue with the room I had was that the shower drain clogged and didn't smell great, but otherwise it is a very natural, warm, and friendly place to stay! Would definitely recommend.
