Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

KenyaLet's start with the location. It is not so far away from the town. If you're up for a 30-minute walk or less, this is doable. When you get in to compound there's a sense of relaxation and warmth. The views are stunning, the rooms feel homey, and the decor is light, portraying comfort. The staff are polite and helpful. I did not experience any issues here. The restaurant, too, was awesome with a good view of the river. The food was delicious and fresh and pocket friendly. Overall, I'd go back here any day just to chill away from hectic day to day.

United StatesNo complaints!
Large room and comfortable chairs out front with a great view of the water. Hot shower too. Really nice space for breakfast or drinks. All the staff were very kind and helpful, whether it was a late dinner or same-day laundry. About a 20-minute walk or a short ride to get into town.

This place was amazing. The hosts made our stay personal and comfortable. The location is out of the way for peace and quiet but still a short drive to the centre. Rooms were spacious and very clean.

ColombiaWe absolutely loved our stay at Home on the Nile. We stayed for four nights. The view from the balcony is just amazing. The owner, David, was very friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of useful recommendations for things to do in Jinja. The staff were all incredible. Hope provided us with fantastic service every morning. She even learned off our breakfast orders. The food was incredible too. Some of the best food we had in Uganda. Jessica made us lovely cocktails every night too. Great service all round. Also really appreciated the French press coffee in the room.

All the staff are super friendly with smiles, I met David, the owner, he was kind. They have simple but good recommendation of different activities. And the local food made was super delicious, the dessert is a plus, they also have icecream. I love the room, it's clean, quiet, cozy, right by the Nile river. Will definitely come back again. Tips: book early especially during the weekend. BTW, I love the cat.

United KingdomIf you are sensitive to noise, there is a noisy bar/club which operates throughout the night on Fridays and Saturdays. We felt very sorry for the owner, as there is little he can do to alleviate the situation.
This is a very nice place to stay. We had a room with kitchenette - not for cooking, but with fridge and coffee maker - and spacious bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice terrace overlooking the Lake, with a comfy couch. The breakfast, prepared by the host and staff, consists of various egg dishes, toast and avocado, sausages, and good coffee or tea. served in a nice breakfast room with a great view. The bed was comfortable with a mosquito net which we thought we actually did not need. The location is close to the Sailing Club.

PortugalYou can buy beer, but a proper bar would be great. They are building one, though, so should have it soon.
We could sit on the front porch overlooking the Nile all day. David and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and laid back. Very nice breakfast and fairly easy walk to town. There's a nice bar / restaurant in close walking distance. Room and bathroom comfy.
