Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeySince I checked in early, I was told that I had the right to breakfast the next day, but I was not given breakfast. I went out for breakfast. This is not nice at all. This should not be done to a customer. I have been to a hotel three times.
The staff is very efficient, hardworking and polite

IrelandLocation is a bit ghetto-like and not for the faint hearted. More variety at breakfast.
Room was nice and spacious with a fridge and air con. Lift in the hotel made transitioning from floor to floor easy. Security on the ground floor 24/7. Breakfast was fine - chef cocking eggs made to order. Staff pleasant and helpful. Lots of shops, banks etc. 5-minute walk away. Night markets easily walkable from the hotel. Good supermarket 10-min walk away.

United KingdomThis is an excellent mid-range hotel right in the centre of Kampala. It serves a great breakfast, and has a good restaurant and bar. I travelled from England and enjoyed my stay., It has a gym. It can be a bit noisy, but that's what happens if you are right in the centre of Kampala. Staff very efficient.

United KingdomThis hotel is located in the heart of town, making it ideal for people looking to shop or escape long traffic jams to and from town. Breakfast was adequate, but there were also great restaurants nearby that served traditional Ugandan cuisine. Staff are friendly.

North MacedoniaThe WiFi was a bit spotty in some areas of the hotel, which was frustrating—definitely something that could use a little attention. Also, having coffee packets in the rooms alongside the tea would have been a simple but much-appreciated touch for caffeine lovers. As for the bathroom showers, the fixed design isn’t exactly friendly for taller guests. The hotel’s location is in a lively area, so don’t expect complete peace and quiet. Also, the lingering COVID-19 posters with reminders like "put your mask on" and "stay six feet apart" felt outdated and out of place.
Russell Hotel may not boast the flashiest facilities, but what it lacks in modern flair, it more than makes up for with its outstanding staff. Attentive to every whim, they elevate the experience beyond expectations. The breakfast, though limited in selection, is enjoyable—especially their fantastic cappuccino. Rooms are spacious, with beds and pillows that offer decent comfort. The hotel's location is right in the heart of the action—bustling and lively—though not ideal for families with young children, as there are no kid-friendly amenities. On the plus side, the restaurant serves up delicious meals at unbeatable prices, making dining here a true highlight.

United KingdomDespite not asking for room to be cleaned, beds were stripped of towels and linen around 11am and not put back on until nearly 6pm. This meant we could not shower or relax in our room after a long sweaty day walking round Kampala. I asked if this could be expedited (I'd even put the linen on myself!) but its still took more than two hours waiting in the lobby for this to happen. On leaving, staff were unfamiliar with Booking.com and claimed the overall price was actually the price per night. I explained how it worked and we got it sorted but we were made to feel that we were short-changing the hotel through their unfamiliarity.
Staff on desk and serving at breakfast were really lovely and helpful Big clean rooms

United KingdomBathrooms are modern and clean but dimly lit. I don't know why they are using low powered bulbs in the bathrooms. Also the food service in the restaurant can be very slow at times. I waited half an hour for food on a couple of occasions when the restaurant was almost completely empty.

The hotel is centrally located, my room was well-furnished and comfortable, and fairly quiet. The staff were polite and friendly. There is a surprisingly well-equipped gym on the top floor.

KenyaEvery day there were things missing in the room from towels, sandals tooth paste . For every night I had to call reception to be brought for something. They need to have a standard routine everyday to avoid the disappointment of calling room service everyday. Secondly the room attendants were very noisy in the morning talking in high tones . Actually they are the ones who used to wake us up. However the hotel is great I mprove on these two and you will continue attracting many more people.
The food was very good I enjoyed the breakfast dinner e.t.c . The rooms were exceptionally clean and attended to everyday.. The staff were equally very friendly the reception guys were very hospitable and attended to all our needs. All the staff at the kitchen / food section were great and served us wonderfully kudos keep it up
