Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UgandaKitchen service in the evening took forever. I waited 1.5 hours for my order to arrive, by which time I was no longer hungry. I gave my feedback to the receptionist and the waiter and they were quick to apologise. Menu is extensive and that is perhaps part of the problem.
Attentive staff. Breakfast was good value: unlimited tea and coffee, two types of bread, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, as well as vegetable katogo. Self-service. Hot modern shower and very comfortable mattress.

United StatesThe restaurant staff was very friendly, but prices were a bit high and the service was slow, and the menu was a bit limited.
Located in a nice, clean, peaceful residential neighborhood, a little bit removed from the dumpy, congested city center. Loved seeing some local wildlife in the property's trees. The staff was friendly and helped arrange a ride to the Igongo Cultural Museum.

United KingdomVery Disappointing – Misleading Location and Unethical Practices I booked the Palace Hotel based on the listing that claimed it was just 200 meters from the city center. In reality, it is over 2 kilometers away, located in an isolated area with no nearby shops, restaurants, or facilities. As a solo female traveller, I specifically chose a central location for safety and accessibility, and this false advertising put me in a difficult and uncomfortable situation. The owner was dismissive when confronted about the misleading information and even didn't want to accept it's more than 20 minutes' walk ( as he was saying 10 minutes) It's clear that this is a tactic to deceive guests into booking. I have written to him 4 times with regards the distance to the centre but deliberately he ignored me and if I knew I would have cancelled my booking. To make matters worse, the hotel’s restaurant prices were unreasonably high, (some of them even more than in Europe) clearly taking advantage of the fact that guests had no nearby alternatives for meals. The breakfast was from 7.30 to 10 am but at 9 am there were hardly any food, fruit or milk was left. He promised to correct his advert on the website but still the same misleading information. I would not recommend this hotel to the women —especially solo travellers—due to its dishonest practices and remote, inconvenient location. A very disappointing experience. I know, he would perhaps deny all the facts especially when I have extended my stay for 2 more nights due to the business with the nearby orphanage.
The most dishonest owner that I've seen within one and a half months of travelling in Uganda. The hotel is nice, comfortable, and spacious room, very reliable WiFi, and a group of nice and welcoming staff, especially Annet and Chris.

UgandaMaybe provide a bottle of water in the rooms for guests. Clean all the rooms before allowing guests to see them. No one wants to pick from unkempt rooms and wait for claening. First impressions matter.
It was okay for the price.

GermanyAll in all the place is clean, has a nice garden and the staff is supportive. Our room was really big and the bathroom is good as well. The only problem was when we ate at the restaurant it took a very long time for two sandwiches, of which one was so salty it wasn’t eatable. It was very hard to communicate with the waiter, therefore the order was wrong in the end, e.g. we asked if the iced coffee comes with milk, he said yes and they came with out, as we asked to get some milk on the side than he brought extremely hot milk with our iced coffee and charged us extra.

UgandaGoogle maps confused me finding the hotel. If you are coming for the 1st time use the town centre route. Maps will send you on the bypass. Not the hotels fault but worth noting.
Quiet and comfortable yet near the town. Really good staff team and simple but satisfying breakfast. Enjoyed my short stay and would definitely recommend and return again.
