The small island is located in Lake Victoria a short distance from the start of the Nile and is a total escape from the world. It allowed two days of relaxing from modern life in the pearl of Africa

You need manage expectations as everything comes to the hotel island by the same boat you arrive on, with hindsight I wish I had brought a travel fishing rod and small binoculars. Anything you need remember to pack.

It is a peaceful retreat filled with amazing birdlife and trees. The service is lovely, a warm staff with a very welcoming attitude. Peter and Juliette made us feel safe and secure. Breakfast in bed, delicious meals. The sense of privacy is incredible. Our boat ride to Jinja was excellent. It is beautiful to be on the water. If you are looking to find yourself again this a a good place to start.

Quiet. Service. Amazing flor and fauna. The sense of time slowing down. Beautiful sunsets.

My family and I had an amazing time at the pool especially as we had it to ourselves. The rooms were spacious enough and comfortable for all of us. The staff were amazing, we felt they did their best to make us comfortable during our stay. Special shoutout to the chef Peter, who took the time to find out what the kids would enjoy for our meals before going ahead to produce exactly what we wanted :)

We felt the property could benefit from having a play area for children, and some of the other parts of the island developed to allow guests enjoy the views around and ambiance even better.

The location was beautiful, right near the Nile. Picturesque, relaxing and serene. Such lovely grounds and also very welcoming staff who were happy to help with any requests we had.

Samuka Islands is such a beautiful place but the major let down was the maintenance of the whole property. There were broken windows in rooms that were not fixed, the restaurant looked worn out and it sort of felt like a bit of a ghost town. There were only 2 other residents on site. Another thing that could be improved is the restaurant. We asked for a menu and were told they have none. We just had to reel off our options in hopes that they had it which seemed quite backward. Getting to the island could be easier. It wasn't straight forward at all and would not accessible for many guests.
