How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Needs more entertainment in the lounge bar area like a DJ or live band all weekend. Just Friday night wasn't enough, that way I wouldn't have to leave to go somewhere else.

Doors to the rooms slam if guests don’t close the door carefully, causing us to wake up during the night as our neighbor came and went.

Verified reviewApparently there is new management and I can tell! A few renovations have been made since I was last there and I think it looks great. Wasn't a fan of having to purchase chairs and daybeds when you are staying there, but I guess that is standard at fancier hotels. The free ones were in the sun and my husband can't be in the sun for too long (bummer). However, the young lady Viviana who was our server was so sweet and nice and provided such great customer service that at that point I didn't mind paying for the chairs anymore lol. She recommended drinks and was so attentive. As for the check-in, Marty assisted us. He was really friendly too and took the time to show my husband some merch. The new Amigo Room is really nice and well done. I wish I would have spent more time in there. The hotel pool had a good DJ playing good tunes that weren't basic or too loud. That was def a plus. The room we got had a patio and close to the pool, so that was nice. The bed was so comfty and cozy. I love the room decor. Always a pleasure and will be back obv.

The property was a little old looking, lots of kids, I got charged for food at the pool that wasn’t me and they refused to give me a refund. Rooms and showers were tiny and looked like camping tent vibes inside. I expected the ace to have a bit of luxury but none was visible. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Verified reviewPool is always fun, and the staff getting drinks is great! The problem was it was so crowded! It was over 100 degrees and everyone was in the pool. I don't think the hotel was very full but the pool was. I think they open it up to the public making it stuffed!
I'm not sure if The Ace was an old hotel/motel before they remodeled but the side of the hotel facing the street (the side with the king rooms, i.e., cheapest rooms) has the heaviest doors known to man! So starting when the first person on this side wakes up and leaves their room the doors start SLAMMING shut behind them. Waking you up from a deep sleep if you're not a morning person. And they don't stop as people get up to grab coffee, breakfast or head to the pool. Starting at probably 6:45 am and not stopping until I finally decided to get up at 8:30 no more than 5 doors slammed, waking me up every time.

Verified reviewRoom was so dirty. When we got to the room there were maggots in the bathroom and by the front door. We had to go to the front desk and they moved us and gave us $75 credit. I felt like that wasn’t enough and it was hard to feel relaxed after that

The staff was not very careful with charges and blamed everything on their computer systems instead of owning up to not having guests sign off on receipts and keeping track of tabs.

Verified reviewVery cute and cool, beautiful views, room was small but cozy and loved the bed. When the hotel isn’t crowded, the pool and facilities are very lovely.
Because it’s such a hotspot, the pool was overwhelmingly busy, difficult to get a lounge chair, and the pool was so murky from all the people in it that it may have given my friend a rash (can’t confirm, just a contextual deduction).

Extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was rude and dismissive. I was handed a key holder with the wrong name, and when I asked about it later, I was told they “sometimes write random names”—completely unprofessional. There was no manager available when I tried to file a complaint, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and shockingly, a staff member entered our room while we were at the pool because their system showed it as “unoccupied.” I’ve stayed here before and recommended it to many, but after this experience, I won’t be returning or suggesting it to others. For $600 over two nights, this level of service and security is unacceptable.
