Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

There was nothing.
This house was adorable! Both bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and there were 2 full bathrooms, plus laundry facilities with laundry detergent and dryer sheets provided. The location was great as it was about 8 minutes outside of Tillamook in a very quiet neighborhood. There is also a great little local restaurant right around the corner on the main road.

The shower/bathtub first floor… bathtub wasn’t convenient for for me to get in & out of.. too high as I have limited motion in my legs and using the shower was challenging as the shower curtain was so close to the body and kept getting in the way. We would’ve used the upstairs shower, but it required going up a narrow spiral staircase… wasn’t worth the effort. We just needed a place to sleep… didn’t need to use the kitchen at all… only there for one night The house was conveniently located to people we were visiting.

That Apple TV remote! It was really tricky to work!
We loved everything!! The location was great, the space was awesome, the bed was super comfy!! Kitchen had everything but a pizza cutter!

My only complaint was the host was very short with me when I asked questions about what appliances were provided in the home. I was trying to make a grocery list for our trip and needed to know what appliances I would need to provide myself. The response from the host was very vague and unfriendly. They made it sound like the kitchen had the bare minimum, when it actually provided nearly everything we needed.
The house was very cozy and met all our needs. It was clean, and the location was great! The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well-supplied. We had a great experience!

The door was not easy to lock when leaving The bed was hard to get in and out of because it is SO high. I was grateful to find the steps in the wardrobe.
The cottage was warm and cozy Well equipped and tastefully decorated

Can't think of much other than I wish it had been available for more than one night.

The tub down stairs drains so slowly...water was ankle deep! Would have been nice to have coffee provided.
Conveniently located, and cozy quarters :) Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. Lots of extra pillows was a bonus as was having extra towels etc!

The bath tub was a little blocked up and the living room heater was broken but it wasn’t a big deal at all.
Beautiful little home that was very accommodating for me and my family. We were traveling for work and the home was a perfect fit

The downstairs bedframe was very creaky, we woke each other up just by turning!
The house was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Loved the size of the house and the fact you can watch TV and cook! Great bathtub.

The upstairs mattress was a little stiff and was hard on my back. Perhaps a few portable fans could be invested in, the upstairs room got really stuffy at night even with the window open and I’d find myself waking up in a pool of sweat on more than one occasion.
It was private and quiet, the house was well stocked and had plenty of space.
