No help from bellman and one parking attendant chased us down (literally) to tell us we couldn’t park in the parking spot that we parked in. I think it was all about $$ and wanting us to pay for valet. Just such a silly policy. For the price of these rooms parking should be included. After all this is just a small town not SF LA or New York. It made this place feel pretentious and rude. Other than that experience it was a nice hotel.

I think a paved walkway from the resort to the north parking lot would be more practical for rolling luggage.

Lunch outside was excellent. The grounds are beautiful. It is located close to town. Having lived in Paso in the 50’s and 60’s I appreciated the historic pictures in the hallways.

We thought the “extra” charges for bringing our dog were extremely out of line. Not only did we have to pay an additional $50 per night pet fee, they required that you upgrade your room to the patio type which cost us an additional $50 per night. All in all we paid $400 extra for 4 nights for our dog which caused not extra cleaning and created no extra hassle for anyone. We were also quite disappointed in the prices of food at the restaurant. The portions were huge. My suggestion is that you cut the portion size as well as the price.

The bed could've been more comfortable. It was a little too soft for my liking. The food and wine were so-so. I wish there were more gluten-free and dairy-free options on their menus.

The grounds were beautiful. You feel like you're in Italy, yet, there's a hint of Eastern philosophy scattered throughout. Also, their homemade strawberry preserves are delicious.

There were so many activities we didn’t know about. Other hotel guests told us to ask the front desk. I think it would have been more efficient to post a calendar with events in the room or the lobby. So no one would miss any :)

I liked the cleanliness, the spaciousness of the rooms, the comfort of the bed. The hotel is tastefully furnished, bringing together various styles, the result is balanced and very pleasant, also because of the relaxing green spaces well kept. The restaurant is very good.

The building is charming and it seems that you are in Tuscany or the South of Spain. The decor is beautiful. It is very quiet with beautiful views.

For such a beautiful and spacious resort, the pool area and jacuzzi are surprisingly small. Once you have 10 or more people out there, it gets pretty cramped. For 170+ rooms, I would have expected a pool size and area that was much larger.

The attention to history and detail was so nice to see still remains in California. We enjoyed the bar and restaurant as well as the beautiful grounds and the fact that you don't even have to leave the hotel to have a fabulous weekend! Save your money and book quality places like this rather than cheap chains. It is worth it! Dress up too it's really worth it.
