How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewThe room was very clean and updated. No carpet. The bed was very comfortable. For the price, the sleeping was excellent. And no bad smells, which is VERY appreciated.
We were in a room right next to the office, which felt less private. Also, there was no ice machine. We needed our cooler for the picnic event we were attending.

Room was dirty.....had to keep going to office to get towels...was told to put trash in dumper behind building because housekeeping was only there for a few hours a day....room very small... Room smelled bad....had to take shade off lamp to have more light cuz room was dark...wish the window opened for fresh air.... FOR 300.00 FOR 5 DAYS NOT WORTH IT...VERY DISAPPOINTED....IF I COULD GET A REFUND I WOULD!!!!!!

We checked into the hotel at 11:00 pm on 8/8/24, but due to severe issues, we were forced to check out by 2:00 AM the same night.The hotel was falsely advertised. The pictures on your website did not match the actual conditions of the room. Additionally, as soon as we sat on the beds, my entire family, including our children, began to experience severe itching. The situation was unbearable and prompted our immediate departure from the hotel in the middle of the night.We were unable to find alternative accommodations on such short notice and had to spend the night in our car, which was incredibly distressing and inconvenient.When we approached the hotel clerk for a refund, we were informed that they could not process it because the booking was made through Booking.com. This is extremely unfair given the circumstances we endured.I demand a full refund for this booking due to the false advertising and uninhabitable conditions we experienced. Verified reviewAfter the way that I was treated by the gentleman at the front desk during check in, I wasn't surprised when they told me that there wasn't any breakfast at all available to the guests.

When I showed him my confirmation number.He told me that I could not check into the room until 2 o'clock P.M.This was 11 o'clock in the morning.I had booked the room for a total of three nights through this third party. I showed him that I was not in fact lying about booking the room and he told me to wait outside until two o'clock and I could go into the room. I told him that I would just keep the same room.And there was no need to clean it or anything so that by fiance who was sick at the time could stay in bed. He cared not at all about my fiancée's well-being and told me that I could wait outside. Again again after sir, telling him 3 times But I didn't want to leave the room in my fiancé.Was sick he finally told me that I could stay in the room. I felt that this was very uncompassionate. And? Definitely. Wasn't the way that I wanted to be treated, especially not wanting to pay to get treated that following day. He told me that I wasn't allowed to. Book the room through a third party told me that the room was full price or I could stay somewhere. I left the office for a moment trying to walk it off and when I came back it. He told me that he didn't have any rooms available anymore. Though. I was willing to pay full price so that I didn't have to move my thingso even though it was 10 o'clock in the morning. And the parking lot was almost completely empty. He basically forced me to leave because I was getting a deal through a third party. I don't know what the rules are to this but. I think that he should be held. Accountable, oh, for treating me like I was a beggar. Or I was trying take something. That I didn't pay for it or something basicallee treated me like I didn't belong there or I was a bomb or something.
