Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was a tad bit small.
Location was perfect! We needed an extra night in town and our hotel was full. I booked the Andrews hotel and we walked over. Convenient, easy check-in and a comfortable bed. Very nice!

United StatesI was okay with a lot of this stuff but I know others might find it problematic. The hotel is under new ownership and they were upgrading a lot of stuff, like they were going to add a microwave to the room and we suggested something with drawers or more storage space in some way. The elevator was tiny and slow and had like a door that you opened by hand because of the historic nature. It's a tall, thin building with a crazy amount of stairs so they weren't really an option if you were above the second or third floor. The bathroom was very small and the shower was tiny. There isn't really space in the lobby for spending much time. There was seating for four or five people only and no lobby bathroom, though I wonder if you could use the restaurant one when they were open. The location was a little close to some sketchy parts of town, but we walked through them during the day to figure out where we could walk more comfortably.
Beautiful, historic building. Free happy hour drink at the amazing Italian restaurant attached to the lobby (Fino). Their food and other drinks were wonderful too. Infused water in the lobby. Bed was comfy. Close to a lot of good spots for our trip.

United KingdomThe breakfast arrangement is ridiculous..42 rooms, doubles, area seats 6 at a time, three hour timeframe to have breakfast…a HUGE drawback! Not for recommending.

United KingdomAstronomically expensive for 2 nights and area central but very rough. Lot of homeless people around and no double glazing so refuse collectors emptying glass deafening in early morning! Continental breakfast basic but ok. But no dining room to eat it, had to sit on lobby chairs of which there were barely enough. Why are so many hotels not doing hot breakfasts and abandoning their dining rooms?? Staffing I guess x
Comfortable beds. Location central so handy

United StatesNote there was no A/C in our room, only a ceiling fan. We were there for 3 nights in July when the daytime temperature highs were below 70 F and plenty of fog. Cracking the window with the fan was cool enough but I don’t think it would be so nice if the outside temperature was warm.
Very clean rooms with cute, functional decor. Plenty of usb plugs. Comfortable bed. Toilet was a bit to close to the tub so had to sit at an angle but other than that, the room was great.

United StatesElevator was a bit slow, but understandable for an older building.
The size of the bed was nice. The hot water ran quickly as well. It was nice that the hotel offered complimentary breakfast and wine between 5-6pm. Coffee, tea and hot water was also available 24/7.

United StatesWhile there was breakfast, it felt a little meager.
The staff was very responsive to any questions or concerns - for example, my bathtub wouldn't fill and they had maintenance there within an hour. The bed was comfortable and had everything I needed. A free glass of wine at night, lovely restaurant next door to eat at when you're too tired to move.. all around lovely.

Location and staff. The room was ok in terms of value for money. At the end of our stay, they offered us to exchange a 5USD voucher at Starbucks for leaving a review in Trip advisor.

United StatesThe bed was slightly uncomfortable, when I would roll over or even get in it I would bounce all over the place which I kept waking up from. It was very warm in the room so I had to leave the window open but noises from the street and people on the alleys were so loud that it kept us up as well.
The room and bathroom were extremely clean. The location of the building is very close to the train station if you are using that as transportation from the airport. They have a lovely little restaurant attached to the hotel where we went to enjoy a nice Italian meal. The staff was always helpful and welcoming.

United StatesThe bathroom sink was rather small and the water pressure was not as strong as I expected--still, both were serviceable enough, this was a minor issue.
The property was nice, the room was big and had a window. The TV was also great. The space was clean. The breakfast was simple but reliable and helped in SF where everything is very expensive. For a stay of a week it was good.
